Roseberry Topping.

The last time I went up there it was so windy it blew my DH’s spectacles off his face😂. He had to get a new pair. The PP’s mentioning fake moon landings. I read it as that arguing it was real was the hill they would die on? I may be misunderstanding. Can you clarify @xxxx01 do you believe the moon landing was fake or would you be arguing it was real? Thanks.

Absolutely, these people think - somehow - they're more clever and better informed than all these scientists, aeronautical engineers, coders, biochemists etc?
Arrogance and stupidity intertwined.

The Dunning-Kruger effect - the more stupid you are - the more you think you’re clever!

It seems I need to clarify (although I genuinely didn't think I'd have to!) that I'm talking about a potential contributing factor, not suggesting tattoos are the sole cause of autoimmune disease or that everyone with tattoos will develop one.

Obviously, some people will develop autoimmune diseases without ever having a tattoo, and plenty of people with tattoos won't. Neither of those things rules out tattoos being a contributing factor in other cases.

Edited

I understood your point. I know that having a tattoo understandably triggers an immune response.

bababamama · 13/10/2026 16:32

@JeffLebowski. Agree!

RedCatta · 13/10/2026 16:32

romantic relationships and marriage shouldn’t automatically come above all other relationships – I think that hierarchy is deeply patriarchal.

Aussiesgettingsmashed · 13/10/2026 16:32

People pretending to be American on here does my absolute nut in. What’s wrong with these utter nobs who put ass instead of arse? Wankers.

Botox does not migrate. Filler does.

There is a woman who is a client of my sisters who has a really bad filler "moustache" and spends a lot of money on products to try and disguise it. She really regrets having her lips filled for years now, she looks worse than she did before she started.

I should say that my sister doesnt offer injectables etc, she does traditional beauty therapy.

Ok, you asked.

  1. There are more and more people with non verbal autism every year and I think eventually they’ll find the environmental cause
  2. Allowing your child to become overweight is neglect
  3. There are far too many people in the UK, we are one of the most nature depleted countries in the world and anyone who thinks we can ‘cram more people in’ while pretending they care about the environment is actually insane

And a slightly less controversial one: those big Stanley cup things are gross and I hate seeing peoples (usually fillered) lips slurping away on them.

I don't have a Stanley cup but this sounds very sexist and judgemental. Funny how as soon a product becomes popular with women that society wants to ridicule it.

Do you think you aren't slurping when you're drinking from your mug?

It's aitch, not haitch. I don't give a shiny shit that haitch is used in some regional areas and particularly in Ireland, mainly among Catholics. They can say it how they like or course, but theirs is a dialect form of the word, not the correct form. There are not two correct ways to spell it. It's just aitch. It's an English language word and the English dictionary spells it aitch.

Israel is the ancestral homeland of the Jews. The Irish are wrong about that as well.

Haitch is not wrong, it is regional....if you don't understand that then I feel sorry for you.

Mine that people who don't like Marmite are freakshows.

I have a t-shirt that says "First rule of the Dunning-Kruger club, you don't know you are in the Dunning-Kruger club"! I wear it a lot!

Not necessarily, as a female she would have a higher percentage of body fat which would have helped to insulate her from the cold.

I used to hate it when my late OH would say that!

She had to survive or the film's ending would have been even more rubbishy that it was, such a boring film, I fell asleep.

-Abortion is always wrong (not looking for a fight on that here lol)

-Sex is nice but overrated.

-I would never accept a hen night* being associated with my wedding (long since married now)

*I first encountered these as a shy 17 yr old boy (decades ago) and was genuinely deeply shocked to see how some people behave on them. My opinion of women up until that point was one of immense respect (it has never recovered since!) and it was actually traumatic to me, to witness how people can behave in the run up to their wedding, when they think no-one will find out.

Watching brides-to-be snogging man after man in pubs etc definitely left me with some kind of trauma / PTSD to the extent that, even today, I immediately feel deeply uncomfortable if I encounter a hen do. From then on there was no chance of my future fiancee having a hen do, the poor dear, but hey-ho blame the sisterhood!

I won’t fight you re abortion but you are wrong.
Not all hen dos are like that by the way. Also if you tell your fiancée you won’t allow her to have a hen do because of something you saw when you were 17.. she should have run for the hills. I’ll die on the hill she should have run too.

Dummies(may be slightly controversial I know)....avoid at all costs, if they've never had them they cant miss them...(side note,I never gave any of mine one)

OsfameronTanamoril · 13/10/2026 16:37

Ah, I believe that abortion is nearly always right and BPAS should be allowed to hand out leaflets in schools.

Quite! How wildly out of proportion.
Also very controlling.
Perhaps he's never seen a man misbehave in public.

RaraRachael · 13/10/2026 16:38

Friends are more important than family. You choose your friends. Family are just an accident of biology.

"Can I get?" is neither rude nor solely American.

Madonna/whore complex comes to mind. You were so traumtised by seeing women kissing? Have you ever been on or heard about stag do's?!

Stag dos are far worse. Are you having a stag do?

Autism should be categorised differently.

The the difference between those who have kids, hold down a good job, run a house, have a partner and no one would know they had asd compared to those that won’t be independent is so vast that it seems utterly meaningless to use the same name. It’s not always due to LD either. Like saying apples pears are the same and they’re clearly absolutely not.

OMG this!! How can it make sense to have a single group of "disabled people" that goes from people who are unable to speak and function independently in life to some of the most brilliant and productive people on the planet, some of whom are even millionaires who create employment for countless "non disabled" people?

OsfameronTanamoril · 13/10/2026 16:39

Oh it's a man again, telling women what to do.
