Mummy when you was fat.

This time last year i was 14 stone.
I often had stess incontinence, I couldn't walk up stairs without getting breathless. I couldn't run if I tried I would gasp for breath and vomit. Walking was very slow.

Now I'm 8st 10. And I can get up the stairs without getting breathless. I can now walk with a good fast pace. I can have little races with ds. I'm not struggling with breathlessness and vomiting. No bladder issues.I feel younger physically.

Ds said to me mummy do you remember when you was fat and you breathed fast and would be sick 🥺. Thats what made me reflect

How old is DS? What a good memory he has given his current speech levels.

Presume you have also been exercising as well since I don't think you can stop puking when you run just by losing weight. I used to be 17 stone and could run for the bus quite easily.

What kind of pills was it? Was it the ones that somebody is starting lots of threads about this morning?

"How old is DS? What a good memory he has given his current speech levels."

Careful- your kindness is showing. 🙄🙄🙄

Huge well done, that’s awesome:)

Congrats on the weight loss and its great you feel so much better.

I assume you correct your son's grammar considering he is 11?

The peak mumsnet-arsehole way to phrase this is "And what did your son say when you corrected his grammar?"

PS well done OP!

That has to be the bitchiest comment I've ever seen on here.

Its because the poster thinks I'm lying. And its an add. Because I started taking tablets in November 2025. They seemed to have made the assumption its wegovy. When it wasn't 🫠

I'd be correcting their grammar.

What a ridiculous thing to say just because a child said something grammatically incorrect.

IKR…the judging is strong on that post.

Besides didn’t anyone else just read the title in a cockney accent 🤷‍♀️ it’s more of colloquialism than an error.

Even if you think you are troll hunting, being nasty isn’t the way to do it. Report the poster if you think it is fake.

It may be a regional variance and it doesn't need 'correcting'. Just like I don't correct my children when they say 'owt' or 'nowt'.

The Yorkshire is strong in your lot?

I’m in Teesside so there is a ridiculous amount of went/gone switching…I despise it, but it doesn’t matter how much I correct my son and husband it won’t change, they can’t stop it now. But they will never ever write it like that though, just say it

No they dont, if they think you are lying say that. They are just making an excuse because other posters have pulled them up on it.

PurpleLovecats · 08/10/2026 15:50

Well done. I am almost 20 stone. I hate myself. You should be so proud!

madaboutpurple · 08/10/2026 15:53

Op, I would like to say Well done indeed.

4 months ago I was 19st 6 and I hated myself. My picture for the jabs I just look like I’m depressed and bursting out of my clothes. Jabs and a strict diet (made very easy because of the jabs) and now I am 15st 4…start today and you won’t regret it, I’m not saying you will love yourself overnight, but I’m a lot closer to loving myself now that I’ve lost half of my goal.

They asked when I started taking it. I said November 2025. And they made the assumption it was wegovy. Saying it's only been available since June.
I replied saying its not wegovy. But I left the not out accidentally. Which didn't help because bit now looks like I said its wegovy.

Please don't hate yourself 😭. Everyone's body's are different. And people struggle with weight for all sorts of reasons. ❤️

Jesus Christ.

It’s a good idea to, though. I always corrected my kids.

Well done on your amazing weight loss. I’m trying to lose a few kilos and it’s not easy.

Sure but it’s not a good idea for bitchy posters to tell the op how to parent, it’s embarassing for them. And reveals an unpleasant side to them,

likely driven by jealousy

well done op, don’t respond to the stupid comments on your child’s grammar,

Yes but the point is, it's got nothing to do with the PP whether the OP corrects her child or not.

And nothing to do with her weight loss either.

I would be very vexed if my child said when you was fat, rather than when you were fat.

I may have missed the point of the thread… 😆

Yes, quite a few posters seem to have done the same.
