Sit at the table dinners and conversation. Helping to cook and wash up. Knowing how to pick out fresh vegetables and potatoes at the veg stall (potatoes in particular). How to make my parents coffee after dinner. Being friendly and polite to everyone always no excuse. Saying please and thank you always. Thank you cards. If you see something/know something needs to be done do it without asking.

I miss Kwik Save. Ours had open-topped freezers and a chiller section you walked through with big plastic sheets at either end to keep the chill in.
