Mid-terms looming, approval falling, prices rising, wars ongoing - Ping Ping and Fu Shuang must be wondering what heinous crime they committed to be banished chosen as envoys of friendship between China and USA. 🐼🐼

I took one for the team :-)

Trump put a vid out on his TRUTH SOCIAL yesterday. It's a vid montage of him "in action". And the site I got it from, the vid actually played. And I transcribed the subtitles to post here. Exactly as they are in the vid.

Why is that taking one for the team? Well, see what it says.

"And on June 14th 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, I need a caretaker. So God gave us Trump.

God said, I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, fix this country, fight the Marxists, eat supper, then go to the Oval office and stay past midnight at a meeting of heads of state, so God made Trump. I need somebody with arms, strong enough to rustle the deep state, and yet gentle enough to deliver his own grandchild. Somebody to ruffle the feathers, tame cantankerous World Economic Forum, come home hungry, have to wait until the first lady is done with lunch with friends, then tell the ladies to be sure and come back real soon. And mean it.

So God gave us Trump.

I need somebody shape an axe but weild a sword, who had the courage to step foot in North Korea, who van make money from the tar of the sand, turn liquid to gold, who understands the difference between tariffs and inflation, will finish his forty hour week by Tuesday noon, but then put in another seventy two hours.

So God made Trump.

God had somebody willing to go into the den of vipers, call out the fake news for their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s. The poison of vipers is on their lips, and yet stop.

So God made Trump.

God said, I need someone who will be strong and courageous, who will not be afraid of the wolves when they attack. A man who cares for the flock, a shepherd to mankind who won’t ever leave or forsake them. I need the most diligent worker to follow the path and remain strong in faith, and know the belief of God and country, who is willing to drill, bring back manufacturing and American jobs, farm the lands, secure our borders, build our military, fight the system all day, and finish a hard week’s work by attending church on Sunday. And then his oldest son turns and says, dad, let’s make America great again. Dad, lets build back a country, to be the envy of the world again.

So God made Trump."

omg. No appropriate reaction choice for that one
😬

"the administration has been able to keep donations for Trump’s ballroom largely secret by using a nonprofit to collect the donations and then channeling that money “into a White House account the president directly controls.”

Wonder what the odds are on that money being kept in perpetuity by the grifter in chief?

I think I must be having a fuzzy brain thing today, or maybe it is just the constant deluge of Trumpism at work.

He has a new batch of campaign vids on his TRUTH SOCIAL. Honestly, I thought there were rules about using fed facilities as props in such campaigning? I remember @AcrossthePond55 clarified the Hatch act for us a while back, and how technically it does not apply to senior folk. But this just seems wrong.

IMPLEMENTING THE LINDSEY O. GRAHAM SANCTIONING
RUSSIA AND IRAN ACT OF 2026

Executive Orders

October 16, 2026

Excellent. And here it is. Lets have a read. I know it's not "Spot the Dog" Don, but this is work. So we have to read it.

Implementing the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 – The White House

Oh, he is endorsing his sister too. Photo attached. That's nice. Ok Don, lets go.

"By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 (22 U.S.C. 10802 et seq.) (Graham Act), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, I hereby determine and order:"

Great stuff. This might be what God put you here for, after that vid you posted the other day.

"Section 115 of the Graham Act authorizes the President to waive the application of any sanctions provision with respect to a foreign person, any restriction with respect to a person, and any duty under the Graham Act, subject to the submission to the Congress of a written certification that such a waiver is in the national interests of the United States and a report explaining the basis for the certification. "

Yeah. But you won't do that Don. You said you were sent by God.

"I am hereby waiving the application of such sanctions, restrictions, and duties provided for in the Graham Act. "

Oh. Ahh well. This is where we say, FUCK OFF DON. And when you get to where you fucked off to, then keep fucking off, and when you have circumnavigated the globe (No Don, the earth is not flat), and got back to where you started fucking off from, we will tell you to fuck off again.

HC-R today on the No King’s restriction

October 17, 2026 (Saturday)

Around the United States of America and the world, people gathered today at more than 3,000 No Kings: Vote Early events to encourage Americans to vote in the November 3 midterm elections. The events were designed to encourage people to vote early to ensure their votes are counted in an election where the president and his party have made it clear they intend to silence their opponents.

Since Trump launched the Big Lie that he had been cheated of victory in the 2020 presidential election by voter fraud, Republican-dominated state legislatures have restricted access to the vote. Although it is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections and such votes are vanishingly rare, Trump and his allies are insisting that states must restrict the vote to prevent voter fraud. According to the Brennan Center, which works to protect voting rights, in 2021 at least 19 states passed 32 laws to make voting more difficult. Since the 2024 election, 22 states have passed 47 laws that restrict the vote.

As Bob Ortega of CNN reported yesterday, states have closed polling places in Black and Latino districts, required new paperwork to vote, reduced early voting, and restricted the use of student IDs for voter identification. Celina Stewart, the chief executive officer of the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization that works to expand access to the vote, told Ortega: “In 17 years of working on voting rights, I have never seen such a widespread and coordinated effort to restrict access to the ballot.”

No Kings organizer Ezra Levin said the way to judge the effectiveness of this No Kings Day was to answer the question: “Did we drive the biggest early vote in the history of the Republic?” He added: “I think we're gonna do it.”

But just at the height of the pro-voting events, Meta took down the main No Kings organizing page on Instagram for about four hours. According to Levin, Meta didn’t respond to the No Kings team, “even as the account was offline at the peak of our national day of action and livestream.” Once the account was viewable again, “Meta told us in their response email that they made a bad call.”

Still, though, No Kings administrators had no access to the account, blocking their ability “to post about an ongoing day of mass action for early voting.” Levin noted: “This is part of a much bigger concern: activists and movements around the world are increasingly vulnerable to decisions made by powerful technology platforms that can determine who gets heard and who gets silenced.”

The League of Women Voters wrote that the timing of the blackout mattered. “When people are gathering, organizing, and seeking information about civic participation, cutting off a movement’s primary communication channel—even temporarily—is deeply troubling. This is about more than one account. It raises serious questions about transparency, accountability, and the power private technology platforms wield over public communication.”

Meta later claimed the issue was technical, saying, “When accounts post, share or comment at very high frequencies it can trigger automated systems. That’s what happened with the No Kings IG account in the lead up to today’s day of action. Unfortunately, that automated action was clearly taken in error. Everything is now working as it should and we sincerely apologize.”

The timing of the error was unfortunate. Just yesterday, Reuters reported on a story out of Brazil claiming that in internal communications, Meta employees acknowledged that the company had restricted the Instagram accounts of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during the country’s recent election. The story says the employees’ messages also recommended accounts related to his challenger, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of Jair Bolsonaro, the right-wing ex-president who tried to overthrow Lula’s government. Senator Bolsonaro did much better than expected in the election, and the two face a runoff.

It was not until close to 6:00 Eastern time that the No Kings account could be used again. “WE ARE BACK IN! We can post again,” Levin wrote. “This was utter bullsh*t on the biggest early vote effort in history. But it will not stop what we're building.”

“No Kings means no kings in the White House,” he wrote, “or in Silicon Valley.”

Spandauer · 18/10/2026 08:37

Darlene is disappointed.

Senator Darline Graham, Republican of South Carolina, gingerly criticized President Trump on Saturday for exempting Russia from a sanctions law that was championed by and named after her late brother, Lindsey.
“Personally, I would choose to put the pressure on Russia to end the war and get gas prices down,” Ms. Graham told reporters at a campaign event. “Because I don’t trust Putin, and I don’t trust Russia.”
It was a small break from Mr. Trump, and one that may put Ms. Graham, who was appointed in July to replace her brother after his death, in an awkward position as she campaigns for a full term with the president’s backing.
Over her short time as a senator, Ms. Graham’s legislative record is understandably thin. But she has cited her role in the sanctions package, a major part of Mr. Graham’s legacy, as a top achievement...

Oh so Meta has acknowledged it really did take down the No Kings account.

Good to have it confirmed that it was a real thing, not just a couple of people having internet trouble and starting a wild rumour.

So. Technical issue my arse. Sounds more like, "Our bad call was that we got caught and faced consequences."

By the way, this bit by HCR is important:
“No Kings means no kings in the White House,” he wrote, “or in Silicon Valley.”

Indeed.

Curtis Yarvin et al have explicitly said that they believe there should be an aristocratic class to whom the state awards more rights and powers. Naturally they picture themselves as those aristocrats!

To be clear, their belief is not that they should live in a democratic state where all men and women are equal before the law and in value of their vote, and where billionaires have more de facto power simply due to possession of money.

No. That's not enough. The Curtis Yarvin class believe that the state should establish them as the controllers and lawmakers.

Interestingly, too, the Curtis Yarvin class believe that there should be a state. They don't fancy their chances in a true anarchy, each individual fighting his/her own corner. After all, the billionaires might get out-competed by little people who know how to raise chickens and boil an egg.

What the Curtis Yarvin class want is a state controlled by them and moulded round their needs, acting as their enforcer over the little people. The Curtis Yarvins will make the laws and be largely exempt from them; the little people will follow the laws and be told it is their moral duty to be law-abiding.

I'm getting Hut Tax vibes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huttax

At the turn of the 19th to 20th century, the colonial rulers of African countries wanted little people to do the labour of building infrastructure and to pay the colonial administrators' salaries. Direct enslavement of the little people seemed too gross a measure, too likely to spark successful resistance. So instead they invented a legal obligation for the little people to pay money to the administration, and called it taxation (obviously without representation or any services in return). The casting of the payments as a legal obligation and in service of some overarching authority rather than personal spite, made it much more likely that folk who like being law-abiding (that's a lot of people) would cough up; and also that enforcers would not find themselves troubled in their consciences: after all, they were just enforcing The Law.

Hut Tax had the desired effect of forcing subsistence farming families to send members into the cities to seek paid work in the cash economy, in order to have cash to pay the Hut Tax. But without an enslaved person in sight. Personal choice, folks, personal choice!

[Edited because Hut Tax was also imposed in east and west Africa, not just southern Africa.]

So it's like what they criticize communist countries for ? The ruling class that uses communist ideology to justify their elite position. Along the lines of Leninism. But in the case of Thiel and his gang, they use religion.

Some of this has been discussed on the "Farage Ch4 sting" thread. The connections between James Orr and wife, to US Christian Nationalism, Vance, etc, and how they use dishonest means to try to mould the world to what they want.

If we put together all the -ve things that are happening with the use of technology and religion to control, open greed and corruption in government, just in the US, and their effects on the rest of the world, (monkey see, monkey do) we are living in dangerous times.

I recognise that other countries have their own internal issues stemming from social media’s effect on discourse, economic inequality, and distrust of institutions independent of American influence.

But what will it take for a hard reset?

I don't think HC-R has really read US history ? It;'s 250 years of recreating a monarchy

In 100 years time, whoever is writing the history will say that everything was leading up to this. From Buchanan, through Johnson, the gilded age, Nixon, Reagan, Bush Jnr ... and now Trump.

@RedTagAlan

Honestly, I thought there were rules about using fed facilities as props in such campaigning? I remember clarified the Hatch act for us a while back, and how technically it does not apply to senior folk.

Hatch Act doesn't apply to POTUS or VP. The caveat is that if they use federal facilities for a 'function' or use federal employees' time they must pay for that usage just like Joe Public would. Sitting behind the Resolute Desk and spewing garbage doesn't cost the US Govt anything and I'm sure he uses his own videographers so he's free to bloviate to his heart's content.

All of which is moot, since the US court system has shown repeatedly how it cannot hold the executive to account. Even in cases where the executive explicitly defies a court ruling or court order.

You may as well say "There should be a law against murder" ....

I made the mistake of watching a few clips of the JD Vance town hall that was apparently televised by CBS. What a little smarmy, lying, fucking fuckface fuck that man is.

And why does no journalist, not one, ever ask him publicly how he reconciles the racism of his party with having an Indian wife?
