Mid-terms looming, approval falling, prices rising, wars ongoing - Ping Ping and Fu Shuang must be wondering what heinous crime they committed to be banished chosen as envoys of friendship between China and USA. 🐼🐼

Do bears shit in woods and is the Pope a Catholic.

Is either a solid fact as in most bears do an historically most Popes are.

Edited

Polar bears don't. I know you said most bears.

Popes ? I think some have not even been Christian, in the modern sense. Many US Catholics for example, did not think Pope Francis was even Christian.

Bill Donohue of the US Catholic League for example. A Trumpster.

Er, yes, and my father was both playing on a usual phrase and also not swearing in front of his children.

  • it’s these values and the ones put forward regarding migrants, detention and values that are endeared Pope Francis and are for Pope Leo to my American relatives and us, practising Catholics. There are quite a few in America (and outside) quietly working to support migrants and democracy.
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 11/10/2026 17:52

I think President Biden was and is that sort of Roman Catholic.

In history most Popes were not Catholic, in that they didn't practice celibacy.

Some bears shit regularly in people's gardens, those that have acres of land. Sadly, polar bears are seeking refuge on land, mostly aggressive males.

Celibacy. Was that not introduced to keep the wealth in the Church ?

Inheritance and all that. Like the Trump clan. Thou shalt not marry poor people, for they will most likely be Dumbocrats.

Edit to add. " Thou shalt not marry poor people, for they will most likely be Dumbocrats who want to steal your inherited wealth. Instead of earning it by being born "properly"".

Fixed it :-)

To add “I came up with that you take out the E and you replace it with a U - a poor person couldn’t do it because they don’t know there’s a B in dumb!” …., wandering off “come and look at my ballroom through the window”

Well the Church of England was based on a King who was married six times and publicly executed two of his wives.

A bit of sexual relationships within the papacy is to be forgiven.

Lived in Galway when this happened. Except Eamonn paid for his child out of church funds. Had an affair with a woman from the US, Annie Murphy, and he loved her and his son.

In the USA it used to be illegal for a while to have a home birth unless you arranged for a qualified medic to be present. (A midwife would do but she had to be properly qualified.)

Does that still apply? Because if so, there is going to be a massive problem with these cuts. I mean apart from the women's safety and things like that, unimportant from the Trumpian point of view.

I hope this including the link of closures to the Act are on media that undecided voters (if they exist) or Democrats that just might not bother to vote see it.

It was never 'illegal' to have a home birth 'in the USA' under federal law. Laws governing home births are made by individual states, not the federal govt.

Different states did and do have different requirements for who can attend a birth.

Nebraska's is the strictest; only an MD can attend a home birth. The rest of the states laws vary as to who can attend a home birth, but they all require some kind of licensure or certification.

In my state (CA) you must be either a certified nurse midwife or a licensed midwife.

RedTagAlan · 12/10/2026 02:35

Oh Kimberly.

Kimberly Guilfoyle investigated for accepting gifts from Greek businessmen (thehill.com)

It has to be bad when even Trump is said to be considering her position. Ah but look -

"The government watchdog’s probe comes after former attorney and longtime Trump ally Eric Deters accused Guilfoyle of requesting $100,000 from him to clear her American Express credit card bill days before her confirmation hearing last year in exchange for lobbying top administration officials on his behalf."

That explains it. She has been tapping his sources. Corruption must be done to others, not the home team.

Spandauer · 12/10/2026 09:13

Kimberley must be sad that she was pushed out of the Trump Family Cartel before she had chance to benefit from all the super-sized grifting. Not so much fun being on the outside looking in.

Didn't ambassadors used to be people who had a certain level of integrity and were given the position because they were above the scrum, or is that an innocent but inaccurate memory? I don't even know any more.
Seems horribly grubby and grabby. Trump probably quite likes it.

If you wanted a really dark comment, I don't the rest of the world would be overly worried about fewer Americans in future.

My apologies if this has already been remarked upon and I missed it. I've had a bit of life going on but it's back to relatively normal now. Interesting about-face. MAGATS condemning her as irrelevant.

Interesting to read from several commentators that following Ukraine’s strikes on 3 Russian “data centres” the number of bot accounts posting has fallen off a cliff.

Speculation that is also part of the reason Trump is gunning for Zelenskyy as the accounts calling him and his goons out are now getting more traction!
