“His hobby” “Person A and person B” Or even worse “Person A-let’s call them Sid”

@HumerousHumous

I've just used the strikethrough in my post above yours.

I'll go and sit on the naughty step!

This is a scream.

Stern voice = not a scream
Moderately raised voice = not a scream
Actual shouting or arguing = also not a scream

Either MNers live in some bizzaro-land alternate universe where people actually communicate like this (and always right in their face too); or they are lying through their teeth so as to portray events as far more dramatic that they actually were.

There is also a disproportionate use of "despising" things and people, when what they really mean is they don't like it, sometimes even quite a lot, but that still isn't despising.

Exactly! Do people literally give a ‘Hammer horror’ scream right in their face while still talking?

I agree it's not always possible to tell if the person just has dyslexia, but when it's clearly verging on text-speak it's irritating. Doesn't dyslexia only affect spelling anyway?

No. It affects more than spelling.

I’m dyslexic and have been called thick and lazy in this website for minor mistakes, I struggle massively getting my words in order, remembering grammar rules etc and now I have severe rheumatoid arthritis that affects hand movement and even though I spend a lot of time checking for errors to avoid looking thick or lazy, I miss some and there’s a certain type of person who takes delight in taking a spotlight and announcing in the thread how lazy and think they think someone is.

I often tie myself in knots when writing messages or posts and before I know it, I’ve spent an hour typing something someone else would have had done in five mins.

I wish it only affected spelling.
