So I really hate fresh ginger in drinks/food but I absolutely love gingerbread and ginger nuts

I love aniseed balls but detest Ricard

love a piece of fresh coconut and dishes with coconut cream but anything else like sweets or cake with coconut I can’t bear

What do you love/hate?

(I’m not counting things like banana flavoured things because that doesn’t taste like banana as we know it)

I love fresh cherries but dislike cherries in any other form.

Drink far too much coffee but cannot stand coffee flavoured cake, biscuits or desserts.

That's a good point. Love a cup of coffee, can't stand coffee cake, tiramisu or anything similar.

momager22 · 25/09/2026 22:20

I like coffee, the coffee flavour/ tiramisu/ coffee revels

I am exactly (eggactly) the same. Love omelette or scrambled (but only if overcooked and quite dry); hate boiled, fried, poached, coddled eggs - make me feel properly sick.

Urgh I have no idea what a coddled egg is but it sounds foul! I'm scared to Google it 😂

Like mushrooms. Hate mushroom soup 🤢

Dunno if this counts but I love the smell of fresh coffee but absolutely hate anything that tastes of coffee 🤢🤢🤢

Are you me?!

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 25/09/2026 22:45

Tomatoes - love them chopped up in a sandwich or salad.

Hate in a pasta sauce on its own and absolutely no tomato soup 🤢

But will eat in a lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese etc

Beshtiismybestie · 25/09/2026 22:50

I only like eggs in baking.

RaininSummer · 25/09/2026 22:58

Eggs in cakes are fine. I am working on tolerating omelette so long as there are loads of things in it and sauce to mask the taste. Wish I liked eggs as they are so good for you.

Beshtiismybestie · 25/09/2026 22:50

I only like eggs in baking.

I didn't see this before my post!

GoodkneeBadKnee · 25/09/2026 23:01

Chocolate. I love a bar of chocolate, but HATE anything Chocolate flavoured. So choc cake, milkshakes, ice cream etc can all get in the bin!! Don't mind a hot Chocolate drink, as long as it's not too chocolate-y.

GoldMoon · 25/09/2026 23:06

Jam on scones or a Victoria sponge fine , jam on bread & even on toast or crumpets , not fine !
Even as a child jam sandwiches was the food of the devil .

Changeisstillpossible · 25/09/2026 23:07

Pasta is good when it's hot.

But cold pasta is slimy and horrible.

Same with rice - good hot, not great in cold rice salad or sushi.

KitchenDancefloor · 25/09/2026 23:08

I like all the fruits in a fruit salad separately.

chop em up small and bung them
in a bowl? Nope, nope and a third hard nope.

it becomes a slimy roulette of mixed textures and colours. Add cream and I’m heaving 🤢 especially when there are stringy strands of juice in worming through the cream 🤮

ShakyBake · 25/09/2026 21:19

Big fan of eggs in all forms and most of my breakfasts involve some like a boiled or poached egg or an omelette probably 5 times a week. But I cannot stand Cadbury cream eggs

I LOVE eggs in all forms except omelette. It makes me heave 🤢

SpottyAlpaca · 25/09/2026 23:11

I like coffee, but I can’t stand coffee flavoured anything. Cake, ice cream, sweets, whatever. 🤮

Love fresh cherries, but glacé cherries are utterly disgusting.

DriveboyDogboy · 25/09/2026 23:14

I love marmite but cannot bear Twiglets

Fifthtimelucky · 25/09/2026 23:17

BeardySchnauzer · 25/09/2026 21:39

I like almonds and almond butter and almond in cakes etc but I hate marzipan

Edited

I used to hate marzipan, but then I started making my own and it’s much better.

Ha! Me too. Although have only discovered this recently. A couple of years ago I’d have said I don’t like almonds. But what I really mean is I don’t like marzipan. I’ve missed out on 50 years of almond deliciousness! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Studyunder · 25/09/2026 23:21

Silverbirchleaf · 25/09/2026 21:25

Don’t like coffee. I do like tiramisu.

I love cheese in sandwiches, on pizza etc. Don’t like cheese scones.

Ditto. There’s something very wrong about baked cheese on scones and also bread

MsJJones · 25/09/2026 23:27

I only like cooked blueberries (in porridge, muffins etc).

In a reverse to some of you, I cannot drink coffee but love the smell and will happily eat coffee cake or coffee chocolates.

MouseKeys · 25/09/2026 23:33

I hate dried fruit like raisins and sultanas. I also hate fruit cake and will happily pick them out of desserts like crumbles......but I LOVE mince pies! I have no explanation for this other than it's the magic of Christmas🌲

FortyFacedFuckers · 25/09/2026 23:33

Love coffee but hate coffee flavoured food

HippyChickMama · 25/09/2026 23:45

Idontjetwashthefucker · 25/09/2026 21:59

I'm the opposite, love tuna from a tin, don't like fresh

Me too! I think tuna steaks taste of cardboard. I love pate but not liver, salmon in fish cakes and fish pie but not salmon steaks or smoked salmon and glacé cherries and cherry flavoured things but not cherries.

madamy · 26/09/2026 00:03

Love cauliflower cheese but hate steamed cauliflower plain with eg gravy just as veg.
Hate mayo but can cope with it as tuna or egg mayo in a sandwich. Same with ketchup- hate it but OK on a Maccies burger!

TaptheCap · 26/09/2026 00:04

Strawberries - fresh, absolutely. Cooked, hell no! Jam, not a chance, ice cream, nope.

Cherries, it's the opposite, love them cooked, in jam and cherry flavoured things but can't stand fresh cherries!
