I want 3 days in bed with shivers & aches

The kind of shivers where even in the hottest bath you still have goosebumps from the shivers.

3 days in bed with a hot water bottle and sleeping

3 whole days off doing life

Anyone else resonate?

I’m really confused, are you saying you want to be unwell?
Or are you saying you are ill and need to go to bed for three days but can’t?

Hellohowareyou112 · Today 22:32

I think they are saying they want to be sick to escape life for 3 days

Dont be a dick. Some of us are genuinely unwell and this makes a mockery of this. Enjoy your health ffs.

TheSlantedOwl · Today 22:34

I hear you. Three days unhooked from all your responsibilities, just unwell enough to warrant it but nowhere near bad.

Oh god. Don’t be so dramatic, you’ve chosen to be offended by that

You're allowed to take some time off just to rest if that's what you need.

MJagain · Today 22:35

Sounds like you need a couple of days off. How can you pull the trigger on that? What would you do if you were sick?

Firstbornunicorn · Today 22:38

I've had this thought so many times! The truth is, if you were that unwell, you'd be miserable. But I understand the fantasy. I used to dream about breaking my arm to get some time off work.

HearMeSnore · Today 22:39

Yeah, I get it. A brief, mild illness that’s just bad enough to necessitate a few days of R&R but won’t do any major harm. Some will say “just take a few days annual leave” but that misses the point. You can take time off but then there are all the other jobs that need doing. Catching up on the ironing, DIY tasks you haven’t got around to… and all the general family stuff that you still have to do.

A brief, mild illness is sometimes the only thing that gets you a few days of peace.

Yes because I have had terrible health this year with cancer and other shit. All I wanted was to be healthy and not bed ridden. So Yes, to wish your health away, albeit temporarily, is offensive to me.

She was talking about shivers… not cancer. Wishing you better anyway

Oh, I am super ill at the moment with cough, aches, shivers etc. Its horrible. I have not enjoyed my time in bed at all because I feel so awful! I can't sleep cos every time I try i just cough and cough. I cant breathe and my face hurts. I feel really cross that I've lost my whole weekend. Its been pants.
I know what you mean about wanting a break from the world but be careful what you wish for. I am now desperate to be well enough for work!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · Today 23:07

I had pneumonia ages ago and when it was bad it was horrible, but there was a few days in the recovery period when all I could really do was sleep, read a bit, sleep, go for a wee, sleep, eat a little, sleep and then get a full night's sleep too. And that bit of recovery was actually very pleasant, especially compared to the next stage which was pushing myself to get back to school run and all the household stuff.
