What makes a middle aged woman so teenage like?

A Grandmother at the school gates in her late 40s maybe early 50s.
She has the energy of a teenager, looks about a size 6 and just looks as if she’s never grown up.
Her voice is young and she is quite child like, I just wondered what makes someone like this?
I am quite envious.
I wouldn’t say she was beautiful or anything but she just looks like a teenager but older.
We saw the family on holiday in a local resort and she was there up on the dance floor dancing to club like music like a choreographer, so much energy and youth.

I might get flamed for this but I’ve found over the years , the “naturally” skinny women (they don’t exercise they are just slim) I find when I get to know these women they have very “jealous “ personalities. Like they will get jealous over little things.

I agree about being petit! I think tall and broad women look older and petit women, unless haggered, look younger.

I wonder if she one of those mythical people that are mistaken for being younger than their age at a glance ?

I am wracking my brain but can’t think of anyone like that! The two people I know who get asked for ID in the supermarket are in their 40s but very small so I agree that smaller people can look younger. I can’t think of anyone with the energy you describe. I don’t know any dancers so maybe that’s why too.

I like a night in the dance floor from time to time and so do all my friends. We're in our 60s. She's still quite young in my view.

It's just how she's built? People have different aging genes. I'm old enough to be a grandmother but at the stage where people are starting to assume I'm my DH's DD. I see the surprise on people's faces when they meet me in relation to my DH. People think I am my grown children's sibling. I have done nothing to 'achieve' this, it's just how I am. I am sure it will catch up with me one day.

Her energy levels may be misleading. I am energetic on the surface. I do lots of activities that are quite hard work and take a lot of energy. I tell people about these or they might see me doing them. What they don't see is the effects of the autoimmune condition I have where I might need a nap after the activity, or need a couple of quiet days afterwards to make up for it.

Don't judge what you see on the surface. You don't know what is in the background.
