Is it normal not to feel devastated after leaving DD at university just sad?

Taken dd up to university. Spent a day getting her here ( not able to drive physically) brought lots of stuff via 3 trains.
Yesterday bought bedding and kitchen stuff. Pretty stuff pillows/throws/ fairy lights etc
Today bought lots of food/ cleaning/ laundry stuff.
I'm now going home tomorrow.
I am sad, she is my eldest and I'm going to miss her loads. Her room will look odd though apparently all the dogs and cats are niw in her room so they know something.
But I'm not devastated or broken or crying?

But just like this very thread demonstrates…. Some very sad, others not, many in between

and it would have been exactly like this decades ago.

i went in late nineties. Both my parents cried

I went to university in the mid 80s and my parents didn't realise the date I had to be there so were on holiday. One of my friends took me! I don't think they were the slightest bit bothered and happy to have no dc at home (my late younger db had taken a job a few hours away).

@Manthide toilet roll!!!.
I had an online shop and just bought the usual but I have so much toilet roll!
Dd went to uni last Friday she's got through 9 rolls so far! How, is she eating it?
Unfortunately/ fortunately for her I'm actually going to be in her university city tomorrow so bringing up another bag full of boots/coats/oodies. And doing another shop for her.

My DD knew what she wanted to do and where she wanted to go since she was about 13. When she achieved it, and we dropped her off, even though she was a bit scared and overwhelmed for a week or to, she was exactly where she was supposed to be. Although it was a bit sad I actually felt really proud, and quite relieved that the cogs had fallen into place.
