Anyone else in education feel burnt out already?

SEN TA in a Secondary School. First week back has been utterly horrendous. I know the start of term is always hectic, but the past week has been unmanageable. Anyone else struggling?

It's good having them in early, near the start. We had Ofsted just before Christmas once, which was awful.

It's a good feeling to know it's done so early in the year rather than hanging on.

I've never seen so many schools being inspected this early in the year before though, I know of 6 so far.

I'm sorry you're all struggling. I had to have some time off last week. Had a meeting with the Head when I returned. Wanted to tell me how appreciated I am, but absolutely no discussion about how we can prevent burnout. We've just been told we'll all have training on how to cope better. Were promised another TA, but that's no longer happening.

I got hit today.
In the face, on purpose, by an SEN child in my year 4 class who is non verbal and in nappies.
I also had to work all but 10 minutes of lunch time with said child as his 1:1 TA had a medical appointment and then rang to say she is signed off.
The head teacher had him outside until 2pm when he also got whacked so called Mum to come and collect him.
Christ knows what we will do tomorrow.
