SEN TA in a Secondary School. First week back has been utterly horrendous. I know the start of term is always hectic, but the past week has been unmanageable. Anyone else struggling?

Thankyou for all that @BagginBilbo
I think it is something that can work well, but if not managed properly, can be quite detrimental.
One of the things that I have noticed a lot of children struggling with, with a unit, is the difficulty of having to adjust to so may transitions and expectations between the unit and ms classroom... especially considering the fact that transitions can be a struggle for so many children with SEND.

As of Friday, half my class have an LSP. Primary school. No TA. All lovely children who try their best, but I feel like I cannot meet all of their individual needs.

I’d appreciate the view of the kind people who’ve posted on this thread regarding whether it would be better to homeschool infant-aged children these days, rather than risk a regular school.

I have advised my relative to homeschool her little one.

Depends entirely on the school and the child.

Although if I had my time again and could afford it I might have homeschooled my boy.

My grandson is homeschooled has been since reception age . He didn't meet enough criteria for a special school.place ( basically more kids than places)and would have sunk in mainstream . Not fair on him his classmates and his teacher . He is happy but he has been failed by the education system in the UK
