DH just ruined my evening

Edenmum2 · 08/09/2026 20:53

I’m just chilling out in bed watching below deck, and DH strolls in and says “I was in the bathroom earlier and the biggest house spider I’ve ever seen ran between my feet” …so I said “what did you do with it it?”

“Nothing”.

Why would he think this is an acceptable thing to tell me?

Where the fuck is it?

Iwilladmit · 08/09/2026 20:53

He has to find it and kill it surely?

Frazzledinmyforties · 08/09/2026 20:58

LTB🤣 I’d be devastated too if DH said that to me. Don’t walk around barefoot and get him to check every room before you go into it.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 08/09/2026 21:00

Correct response: "oh. I wondered what that big thing in your hair was."

Bogstandardname · 08/09/2026 21:01

Bastard!!

HussleMe · 08/09/2026 21:01

It’s just a female looking for a mate. Leave her alone.

Flannelfeet · 08/09/2026 21:05

Just reply "good job I bought the hoover blower, because when your are sleeping gorgeous, im going to blow that big hairy bastard down you're throat! 😡🤫😘

Edenmum2 · 08/09/2026 21:05

It’s under the bed isn’t it??!!

@HussleMe are you suggesting OP DH has been unfaithful with a SPIDER?

OP check his phone and get your ducks in a row

Having had your evening ruined, I don't want to ruin you life. However...

... there are probably multiple spiders in the room with you right now.

Not necessarily they are territorial. That's why I tolerate the spindly ones with the tiny bodies and long legs (that look like daddy long legs without wings). They can do the job your husband refuses to do and protect you from the massive hairy ones.

TheFormerMrsTruelove · 08/09/2026 21:11

She’s just looking for a boyfriend. Does your DH have hairy toes?

It’s the males that wander around trying to find a female actually. They’re following pheromones.

DestituteDesperate · 08/09/2026 21:12

Below deck is where the spider is heading! Lol

Same! There are defo spiders in here and the spindly ones are fine….the massive ones that love to run over the duvet at full speed just when you’re drifting off to sleep can fucking do one.

The cat is on the bed with me….will she protect me??

I collected a load of conkers earlier with my 4 year old…is it true that spiders hate them? Shall I just scatter them around the bedroom floor??

Iloveeverycat · 08/09/2026 21:45

I wouldn't have even asked what he had done with it. I would have assumed he would have left it where it was as I would.

Thatcannotberight · 08/09/2026 22:01

DH thinks he has some kind of "Spidar" and can always sense a spider in the room. I always have to catch them and take them outside. ( yes, I know it's probably bad for them but better than being vacuumed up)
I haven't told him there's been a gigantic spider sitting behind the bedroom curtain for two days. He's oblivious. 😁

MakeThatMakeSense · 08/09/2026 22:12

It's the spider's house too yanno 🕷️

TheDogsMother · 08/09/2026 22:45

I’ve just found one on the wall at the top of the stairs. It was one of the ones with big thick legs. I will usually rescue a spider and put it out myself but this one will probably have pushed over on the way past so I sent DH too deal with it.

Eyesopenwideawake · 08/09/2026 22:47

You weigh probably 1000 its weight. What’s it’s going to do, tickle you to death?

Grow up.

hotmumshit · 08/09/2026 22:48

Ltb, you deserve better xx

My old cat used to eat them. But that also depends if your definition of protect involves vomiting a half chewed very dead spider on your pillow.

Wow you are so right!! I’ve never thought of it like that before!!! Problem solved I’ll ask for the thread to be deleted right now.

and of course you wouldn’t even react if one ran across your face in the night right? Why would you??!

bore off

This honestly works! My DParents put new ones in the corners of rooms every autumn for many years and didn’t see any of the big hairy ones (not sure about the spindly ones, but don’t think they saw them).

I refuse to believe spiders run across our duvets. No no no no NO!

IDontLikePinaColadas · 08/09/2026 23:19

The house is the spider’s now. I hope you weren’t that attached.
