Inspiration for nice food to buy from M&S for weekend in UK holiday cottage? We’re having one dinner out so really looking for lunches and snacky bits and nice breakfasts…. Any ideas?

I wouldn't admit it to anyone but I've become addicted to their miniature pork pies recently (in. A slight triangular shaped box) and can consume 8 in one sitting and have regularly done so for the past 4 months and blame it for my 4 stone weight gain :( please be careful

Buckets and buckets of the pretzel fudge bites. Am addicted and fat

Smittenkitchen · 06/09/2026 22:02

Chocolate cornflake clusters in those buckets 😍

whythehellnow · 06/09/2026 22:03

The loaded dips

MabelAnderson · 06/09/2026 22:05

Chocolate covered custard creams.

Gingerbread and white chocolate cookies

Bjorkdidit · 06/09/2026 22:15

The autumn ginger and white chocolate cookies have come back, I've not had any yet but they were amazing last year.

For lunch how about a fancy loaf of bread to go with soup and other bits? I like their cheap canned tomato soup with cheese bloomer but their fresh soups are quite good too.

Gingerbread and white chocolate cookies

Great minds.

Was it you who bought them all last week so when I went to buy some, all I found was a great empty shelf of disappointment Sad

Nice bread to warm up, cheese, fruit, red wine.

Crisps and dips

Percy pigs.

Their Best Ever lasagne is the best of the umpteen types of lasagne they sell.

Try the dips with the bagel and pita chips.

The platters they do in the deli section are lovely and the garlic bread looks fabulous.

The chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables in the frozen section are great cooked and mixed with a jar of pasta sauce and served with meatballs.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 06/09/2026 22:24

For breakfast they do lovely prepared fresh fruit, yoghurts and pastries.

Ha no… I have found a recipe that’s a dupe of them I might be trying though!

The weight gain is because of heated car seats.

M&S Milk Chocolate Mountain Bar - highly addictive though!

M&S chocolate covered peanuts and raisins

Pain au Chocolat 😋

I love their pretzels wrapped in chocolate ! And the Coriander & Zesty lime tortilla chips are lovely with a dip or as a fajita side. Both are devoured in our house (along with many other things already mentioned here)

Savvysix1984 · 06/09/2026 22:32

Their buttermilk chicken fillets with their special garlic Caesar dip on ciabbatta bread and rocket. There’s lots of videos online about this. It is special. Perfect for lunch.

Eh?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/09/2026 22:36

The red pepper pita chips are my favourite. The wood fired pizzas are great as an easy dinner with salad and garlic bread/doughballs, and I’m also delighted the gingerbread cookies are back for autumn. (The peppermint Christmas ones were a source of great sadness to me though.)

BrummieKara · 06/09/2026 22:39

There's a recent range of chocolate bars that are knock offs of the classics - Mars, Bounty, Snickers etc - but actually like they used to be before the cheap ingredients ruined them.

Sunbringer · 06/09/2026 22:46

The ice cream… the clotted cream blackcurrant one is lush as are the blackcurrant push pops.

They are the absolute crack of M&S treats…

Besidemyselfwithworry · 06/09/2026 22:50

I’ve never had anything awful from M&S but I particularly like the little tapas things they do - they’re really nice and the tubs of rocky roads and flapjacks are good.
I also think their crisps and dips are nice and if you are careful what you buy, it’s actually no more money than other places.

MelonSorbet · 06/09/2026 22:51

The new blond chocolate malt balls are amazing!

thenightsky · 06/09/2026 22:55

Adult DD, this very day, has recommended to me M&S avocado salted crisps. I have yet to try, given I'm an hour's round trip away.
