I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot, after a nice cuddle with girl cat for a change! Boy cat's been for a cuddle down here & now we're listening to the sound of rain on the roof. I did have some towels on the line but have got them in until later on when it hopefully stops!

Dd2's up already. Her plan was to reset their bedroom to suit mostly just her using it for the next few months, wash the trousers she wants for tomorrow and magically appear with a pair she wants taken up that I've mentioned fairly frequently for the past 4 weeks or so 🤔.

I plan to go round downstairs with a notebook and write myself a to do list of things to get done now the weather's turning. I'll start in here where I've noticed some silicone seal stuff coming unstuck & go from there. I'll also carry on assembling my crochet project & think about what's next - some felt decorations maybe.

We're having roast chicken for tea, roast spuds and veg - parsnips in particular 😋. After that it's showers, make sure we're sorted for the week & continue my book, before an early one ready for tomorrow 💤.

What about you?🙂

Good morning all.

Well I did an 11 mile hike yesterday to raise money for Marie Curie, in memory of my friend who died earlier this year, so today I will be catching up on some jobs and washing, oh and food shopping 🙄. Hopefully a rest this afternoon. DCs are back to school tomorrow so I have asked them to sort out their new school bags and bus passes so it's not a mad rush tomorrow. I also asked them to check their school trousers, which they havent done yet. Dc1 had new ones towards the end of the year, and dc 2 has lost weight, but his old trousers were too long, so I hope they will be ok this year, otherwise its another stop today to get new ones!

Early night for us all then I think, I think I will read.

Imaginingdragonsagain · 06/09/2026 09:59

Think we’re going shopping to start prepping for DC1’s uni start. Then need to do tidying as house in chaos from decorating and generally being lazy. But would quite like to be lazy again today!

WasntSupposedToBeLikeThis · 06/09/2026 10:00

Thinking we might go to the beach for the last hoorah of summer

Martymcfly24 · 06/09/2026 10:02

National Cinema day today here so got 4 euro tickets and bringing one dc to see a movie this morning .Have treat bags made up so nice cheap day out. Eldest has a blitz all day in the rain so I pulled the long straw today.!

autumnaunt · 06/09/2026 10:04

I walked the Grisedale Pike circular route in the Lakes yesterday with youngest. My feet hurt and I’m currently still on bed whilst dp is buying me a blueberry muffin for breakfast. Going to relax today.

Got to sort put my logstore later and put together a chest of drawers.

lemoncrisp · 06/09/2026 10:04

Usually just me and dh now children all grown up. I'm still in bed with my cuppa. We'll have coffee at 11am. Then walking into town to meet dd. I've just had a birthday and DD wants me to choose a birthday pressie from her. I'd like some autumn clothes too as I'm 3 sizes smaller than last year. (Thank you mounjaro!) Then home to cook a casserole for all 4 of us (me, dh, DD and her husband) this evening. Apricot crumble for dessert. Nice day!
Sorry if I sound smug - life hasn't always been this easy. Decades of sh..t and I can't believe both my children still want me in their lives.

Crunchymum · 06/09/2026 10:06

Happy Sunday 😊

We are back to school "proper" tomorrow. 2 out of 3 went back last week (Thursday and Friday respectively) but that was just breaking us in gently.

Kids themselves are going to in-laws in a bit as there are some family visiting from abroad (I'll see them for dinner later in week) so once DP finishes his football he'll collect them. Their cousins will be there and there is a buffet lunch so they'll be happy enough.

I'm going to get on with the washing, ironing and batch cooking. Plan to do a beef stew and a chilli for the freezer. Mine love stew and eat it whatever the weather but I haven't made it much since spring.

Mine are all packed lunch so I am going to prep some stuff for lunches - pesto pasta / hard boiled eggs / potato salad.

I'm going to do jacket spuds for dinner - with cheese, beans and coleslaw but depending on how overboard the in-laws buffet it (they do a mean buffet) and how long the kids stay, then it may just be me for dinner. The spuds will be oven cooked but they reheat nicely, infact I always cook extra for the fridge.

Lots of cooking and food prep today!

Early night all round, the older ones and I will watching episode of The Rookie but that's exciting as it gets here on a Sunday night.

Morning all. My and the little 2 DS came to the caravan yesterday. They got a good play and run around. We’re still in our pjs now. Going to get ready soon and give them a quick go in the park before heading back home. Not sure what to do today. Maybe a walk somewhere later on. Need to pick up a few bits from the shops for lunches etc, but won’t do a full shop just yet. Trying to use bits and pieces from the freezer first.

have a great Sunday all!

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 06/09/2026 10:14

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Still trying not to panic, especially as I bought yet more on Vinted last night! I’m picking up a friend later & just had to clear my front seat to make room for her! It’s a lovely sunny September day here in Cornwall. Looking forward to seeing my friend & we’re going to a local attraction that I don’t think I’ve visited before. Just done the dishwasher. There was so much to go in! Kitchen looking much better now. There’s a basket of wet clothes to hang out & I need to christen tea. Haven’t done meal plans for a few weeks & it’s not good! Probably have pasta, pesto & peas. DH & I may take advantage of the £4 cinema tickets although not sure there’s anything we fancy seeing. Odyssey is still on but I won’t be back in time for that. DD17 hasn’t emerged yet. She needs to pack for a week’s stay at her GF’s. Whilst she’s away, we’ll sort her bed out as she’s been sleeping on the mattress & has no duvet cover on. Bought new pillows weeks ago but they’re still sitting in DH’s office. Have a good Sunday everyone♥️

shellyleppard · 06/09/2026 10:17

Morning peeps. Just been standing in the garden watching the air ambulance....very low. Even the cats were worried!!

Thislittlekitten · 06/09/2026 10:18

Morning Squad

I have woken up with a stinking cold. DH has kindly brought me up tea and a bacon roll. I’ll get washed soon and we will go to pick up DS. It’s quite rainy here today. DDog will
still need a bigger walk later.

I had a fab day out with my friend yesterday so today will need to hit the books today. Will need to pick up food for the week and sort out uniforms.

Things to do but also a gentlest day. My chest feels a bit heavy so just being careful. Perils of back to work with young children. Some of the poor toots have been picking up bugs with the first few weeks of term starting.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Tiddlywinks63 · 06/09/2026 10:18

Good morning, a glorious sunny day here with a gentle breeze. Perfect.
So far I have deadheaded roses in the front garden, taken a bag of runner beans along to a friend, prepared ratatouille which is now in the slow cooker and a second load of washing is ready to hang out.
I need to clean out the fridge and decide if I really want to trek into town tomorrow to pay in a cheque and do a Lidl shop ( if I don’t then it’s an Ocado shop to sort out instead).
I intend to spend the rest of the day in my Shed, doing very little as I got rather tired yesterday but had a lovely time with my friend. I do have a number of plants to put in the garden but that can wait for a day or so.
Wishing you a lovely day x

SummerBlueskies · 06/09/2026 10:21

Morning all
I’m picking up adult dd then picking up my granddaughter from my DS and his partner. Depending on what the weather does we’ll take GD out for the day somewhere with DH and younger DD.
Not sure what to have for tea yet but then it’s showers all round ready for work and school tomorrow

DilemmaDelilah · 06/09/2026 10:21

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

I don't have a lot planned for today. Mr Dilemma is off out to get a few bits in a minute - I offered to go with him but he wanted to go on his own. So I am crafting at the moment. Funnily enough at the moment I am making felt decorations! Later on I will sort out my card making stuff - I have far too much for the large shoebox it is in at the moment so I need to put it all in a bigger box. Then I need to sort out my felt decoration stuff so that I only have what I need out - rather than having everything out, and I'm going to try to work out how to use my new, and very basic, sewing machine. I want to try to make myself a couple of evening bags but so far I have been sewing everything, including cushion covers, by hand.

Not sure what we're having for lunch... Mr Dilemma is exceedingly good at coming back from the supermarket with things that were not on the list, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if we have something he has bought. Tonight is corned beef, salad and jacket potatoes.

gillyflower2 · 06/09/2026 10:22

Good morning all. Dd started school last week and we had a busy day yesterday so taking it steady today. Feel like we all need a rest! Dh currently out with dog and dd and I are chilling in front of the TV, when he gets home we’ll probably have bacon butties. At some point I’ll take dd out for a wander and was thinking of nipping up to the Range to get a few household supplies and no doubt get conned into buying some expensive craft items too. Later on it’ll be Sunday lunch and a glass of wine before resetting for the week ahead. Morning are a little chaotic now so I like to be prepared! Have a lovely day all.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 06/09/2026 10:40

@DilemmaDelilah haven’t read the thread but hope you are feeling better 💐💐

Mydogisagentleman · 06/09/2026 10:43

Currently at work. Have just finished a steak and ale pie from the local butcher. It has been raining and is still cool.
Home by 3, then out to my parents for dinner.
Day off tomorrow, but with a full day of errands planned

Iliketulips · 06/09/2026 10:45

Sat in airport with coffee in front of me. Planning a potter around Amsterdam late afternoon and a meal out😄

DilemmaDelilah · 06/09/2026 10:50

@MarmaladeSandwich7 thank you so much for asking! I apear to be absolutely fine today. Just one of those things I suppose...

gingercat02 · 06/09/2026 10:51

Morning all
Its DH birthday today, we are just chilling with a coffee waiting for DS to get up. Bacon and egg rolls, followed by cake and fizz should set the day up nicely.
F1 this afternoon and then out for dinner.
Happy Sunday everyone

lucysmam · 06/09/2026 11:11

@DilemmaDelilah glad to see you're ok today 😊.

Morning all, it’s a beautiful morning here. I’ve got some more washing outside already but have come back to bed to watch episode 4 of Vigil. Dh and ds have gone out to get some stuff for the lawn and go to the farmers market to get stuff for dinner.
We’ll go for a walk this afternoon, maybe stopping by a pub - could be the last time this year for a warm sunny drink in a beer garden!

Rowgtfc72 · 06/09/2026 11:14

Morning!
Got up at 530 and watched the Casualty double bill from last night.
Dh got up and I made fake maccies breakfast.
Need to make some flapjack and cook some pasta for people's work pack ups
Cleaned and did the garden yesterday so I'm still in pj's looking forward to the Italian grand prix and Btcc from Croft circuit.
Rare lazy day.

TroysMammy · 06/09/2026 11:18

I bought a bike yesterday and went out for a cycle, the first time in 12 years and I'm now aged 58. I walked some of the way until I get used to inclines but it felt good. I'm not too sure about tomorrow as I could have sore legs and a sore fanny 😂

BCBird · 06/09/2026 11:19

Morning all. I have been talking to my brother for 90 mins- a catch up. I need to send off a job application. Afterwards will read and watch a programme i came across on channel 4 called Everybody Lies- 2 episodes in - seems ok. It's raining here. Hope you all have the best day possible
