How do you feel about the last day of summer?

Its the last day of summer today. Are you glad, sad or indifferent?
I love all the seasons so I'm quite happy.

I loved this summer. I don’t mind Sept but hate Oct to March. Dread the wet and cold. Dark nights. Ugghhh

You're not normal people, you're just wrong people i equally hate it when people like you go around spouting completely wrong facts.

We don't celebrate mother's day - which is nothing but a greeting card holiday that has been made up. We celebrate Mothering Sunday, which is always the fourth Sunday in Lent and is different from the greeting hard tacky holiday held in May.

Christmas actually starts on 25th December and doesn’t end until 2nd February with Candlemas.

Advent starts on the 4th Sunday before Christmas which does not start until 25th December.

Just because you don't want to accept the true dates for things doesn't make you right. You're not normal people you're just wrong

Autumn, winter and spring can do one as far as I’m concerned. Summer every day for me would be ideal.

I’m genuinely confused by this. I was taught as a child that summer ends on September 21st, in school. Why would that make me abnormal?

Summer isnt over until I put my jeans on again. I've had an incredible summer, it's my favourite season. Winter is cold, grey and miserable, so depressing

I’m happy for it to come. We have lots of plans for the end of 2026 and starting to plan stuff for 2027.

I appreciate the individual beauty of the seasons, although summer is by far my favourite. But the problem is that we don't get those clear distinctions. Winter can easily descend in October and effectively last well into April. So at least 7 whole months of cold, grey, grim misery. I actually had the heating on this year until the first week of June as it was hovering around 13 degrees most days. And although this summer was a cracker it really only lasted around 8 weeks depending on where you live.

Well, yes I am always right but TBF they’re not really my rules, I’m only stating what the Met Office say about the seasons.

I love the sunshine but the heat has annoyed me this year so I’m enjoying the cooler autumn weather. I love the colours in autumn too but I’ll be sick of it before long I’m sure, and longing for summer evenings in the beer garden!

Indifferent. Seasons begin & end every year so there’s not much point stressing about it. And anyway, I’m going on holiday this month and again in October. So much more civilised than battling the hoards in July & August!

I'm largely indifferent to it. It is going to happen whether I like it or not - that's the cycle of the seasons, nothing I can do about it. It has its ups and downs for everyone.

However if I see the words SNUGGLE, COSY BLANKET, CANDLE, HOT CHOC, TWINKLING LIGHTS, CRUNCHY LEAVES, CRISP MORNINGS...... on this or any other associated thread, I really shall go a bit mad. 😊

I love all the seasons too so I’m fine with it.

Sad. I love the warm, light evenings. I actually find September one of the most depressing months. Although the weather can still be quite nice, it just something about the nights drawing in and the gradual decline into autumn and winter. Sometimes I wish I was a squirrel and could hibernate until March!.
