Housing association “in void” was due to move in next month

I was meant to move in to my HA property next month but I am being told there are still works that are needed and the property is “in void”. I was offered this house on 7th of August. I would have thought they wanted me to move in ASAP but it does seem they’re dragging their feet, slightly.
How long could this take? Apparently “quite a lot of work is needed” originally, I was told the work that was required, wasn’t much.

How long can I expect to be waiting?

I’ve worked as contractor for housing associations in the past, and whilst they do want you in as fast as possible, literally anything can cause a delay. The previous tenants could’ve caused significant damage, or there needs to be some plumbing or wiring done. Certain tasks can only be completed once the previous bit is done, like a chain of events. No one is going to replaster until the water leak is sorted etc. If one trade isn’t available, it will have a knock on effect. Not everyone can drop everything to deal with with the demands of a HA they are contracted to, there may be several voids at the same time.
