Do you have hairy boobs?

I started getting underarm-type hair around them at around age 30. I pluck them when I see them but they seem to spring out when I'm not looking. DH finds this hilarious.

I thought it was just me but then he and DD were watching the celebrity SAS program and one of the contestants was showing her hairy boobs to another woman. It turns out I'm not the only hirsute one, hooray! Now I'm interested to know how common this is via a completely unscientific MN poll.

Mumto3thatsme · 28/08/2026 19:58

Its mortifying! I also have pcos and all the joys that come with that!

Wittypeach · 28/08/2026 20:01

Joys of been a woman babe!
We all have our issues and all our bodies are unique..
Don't let this get to you , it's very normal...
Pluck the hairs out of you're bothered if not just let them grow! If anyone has an issue fuck them off!

Balloonhearts · 28/08/2026 20:04

Yep. They grow in a perfect circle around each nipple. Like a fairy circle 😆

Specialneedsnightmare · 28/08/2026 20:04

Yes i get a few, but not many. I'm late 40s and have had them for years. Thankfully they are fair. I shave them off and don't give them a further thought. No man has ever been bothered.

MadMAGA · 28/08/2026 20:09

DH isn't bothered by them but is amused by me closely examining my nipples, screaming "ANOTHER ONE!" and ferociously attacking them with tweezers. He gets stray arm pubes and lets me pluck those too.

Nearing 50 and I get hairs everywhere but my boobs!

NeedAbout36HoursADay · 28/08/2026 20:10

Yes 😣

Also one white hair on my neck which I check for daily yet only find when it's 2 inches long. Why???

MyManinCaracas · 28/08/2026 20:13

Yes, and it’s hugely, strangely satisfying to pluck them.

Ooh I did read something that hairs on the chin/neck in menopause curl around under the skin then suddenly pop out 1inch long. No idea if that’s true or not but it makes sense

DiscoRice · 28/08/2026 20:30

I had hairy nipples that started in my teens. Big pubey type hairs that are insisting on growing in my 40s.
Satisfying to pluck.

Mine must do this, or start off wispy blonde and suddenly thicken and darken in a stealth attack.

Is this a cunning post to find out what percentage of people on Mumsnet are men?

No, I've just been at the airport for hours waiting to get on a very delayed flight and my mind is pondering idle questions.

I get one maybe two hairs I have to pluck or shave. There. I’ve only ever told DD that

Applepe · 28/08/2026 20:42

I don’t have dark ones, but I do have very fine fluff that grows all over. Each follicle has at least four or five fine, fluffy hairs growing out of it.

I hope you didn't get your boobs out at the airport to have a quick check.

Not for everyone, I can assure you!

Not yet. I might get some bored that I forget where I am if we have to wait much longer though.

I have one single boob hair which I usually pluck out. I saw a body positivity article about a model who was fairly hairy all over.

Delays at airports definitely do strange things to your brain. I once saw a woman do a complete cleanse, tone and moisturise routine.
Maybe cut your toenails or chant your times tables.

Sezza57325 · 28/08/2026 20:53

I have about 5-10 dark hairs around each nipple that I pluck about. About eyelash thickness. I remember in my mid 20s a friend saying “celebrities are just normal people. Even Scarlett Johanson gets nipple hairs” and I was like ohhh so it’s not just me with the hairy nipples

Nurseposter123 · 28/08/2026 21:02

Yes I pluck them out. Awful.

Also am a nurse. It's soooooo normal. Not even something we would find abnormal in patients at all.

BEAchDays2 · 28/08/2026 21:02

No, not at all, in my forties, nothing wrong with it but I would be horrified!!
