I saw those earlier and even checked the date as I couldn’t believe that they’re on the shelves already.

This is part of the reason why I hate Christmas so much. Overhyped for months.

HappiestSleeping · 24/08/2026 19:04

I've already started with Christmas.

Two nights in a row in the pub? Fuck it, it's nearly Christmas.

Extra chocolate? Fuck it, it's nearly Christmas.

Another glass of port? Fuck it, it's nearly Christmas.

Curry? Fuck it, it's nearly Christmas.

And, as I am a bit of an insomniac at the moment, I have the excuse that it's only four sleeps until Christmas

ToKittyornottoKitty · 24/08/2026 19:06

Why do people post these threads literally every year like it’s new? Christmas stuff always comes out this time of year, always!

Really? Maybe mid September but we’re still in summer, but more importantly, why does someone posting it irk you so much?

StarDolphins · 24/08/2026 19:22

£2.50 wtf🙄😱

It doesn’t ’irk me so much’, it’s OP that’s swearing about it. And yeah, last few weeks of August, it’s always appearing in shops when school terms about to start.

AbacusCat · 24/08/2026 19:26

Is the idea that people do one a month till Christmas?

paomara · 24/08/2026 19:26

A few years ago myself and DP (no kids) went off to Southern Spain for a month over Christmas. (Retired) Honestly the C word was so low key there that I had to blink to realise it was Christmas Day and better facetime the rest of the family back home to send on good wishes! Perfect for us as we both hate the frenzy and in your face constant commercialisation of C for months, all for one bloody DAY! We haven't been at home for Christmas since.

On another note, I'm surprised to see Chrimbo selection boxes out and not the H stuff, but I'm sure it's there somewhere in all its orange glow. Ugh, another hyped up load of shite. But anyway....

BCBird · 24/08/2026 19:28

I saw these about 3 weeks agoConfused

Powoo · 24/08/2026 19:30

I work in a food factory, we’ve been doing Christmas confectionary for ages throughout the summer basically, makes me dread Christmas when I’ve seen so much of it for weeks and weeks!

rereturner · 24/08/2026 19:31

I fucking hate all the Christmas prep, but to be fair, if I didn’t leave it all until the last 2 weeks before Christmas and bought little bits like this every month starting from now I might possibly enjoy the whole season a bit more.

There used to be schemes where you saved every month and they sent you ‘Christmas’. I don’t know if they exist anymore but this might inspire me to do my own version and save things up.

If I buy the calendars now, will I ever remember where I stashed them though?

Were did I swear?!

I am in my 50's and worked in retail on occasion and have never seen Xmas stuff this early. As PP said, late September/early October has always been when I noticed it.

Park do a savings scheme, which is apparently protected (which the old schemes werent) for vouchers or gifts. I have done it a couple of times and the vouchers are good as you get out what you put in, whereas the gifts are often over priced.

Home Bargains is the same, full shelves of Christmas stuff.

Cherrysoup · 24/08/2026 19:56

My Fb memories show Christmas stuff in the Range last week, was in there the other day and only saw Halloween stuff. 🤷‍♀️

Daffodilsinthespring · 24/08/2026 20:11

It was my birthday on Thursday. For the last 25 years, Christmas stuff has been out for my birthday. It’s nothing new.

Exactly- it’s always out for my birthday which was last week.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/08/2026 20:17

To be fair , it's an advent calendar that you'll need before December 1st. Tomorrow is the 25 th August ( Rudolph Day 😉) so you've only got 3 months to buy them.
Don'cha come a-whingin if you cannot find one in November

In your OP, abbreviated.

That seems odd, it’s always in shops before then and there are always threads moaning about it on here in August.

Well I have never seen it.

The FFS was meant as an expression of frustration than swearing, but ok!

It literally means ‘for fucks sake’, obviously as an expression of frustration. Not sure what your issue is with that really, we are allowed to swear 🤷‍♀️

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 24/08/2026 20:23

I work in retail and Christmas stock started arriving 3 weeks ago. Always comes in before Halloween (which is now in too) Christmas has taken over all the seasonal aisles and has already started flying out. Some Halloween stock has already sold out. Its just the way our year works, after the gardening and camping seasonal starts to run out its replaced with Christmas and Halloween. (Yes Easter eggs will be in store before Christmas and depending on stock levels put out Christmas eve or boxing day)

I am not the one with the issue!

This was just meant to be a "Wow, already?!" thread, for fucks sake!

God I despise the commercialisation of Christmas.

And Halloween and Mother's Day and Easter and bloody all of it.
