If your partner gave you free reign and said “take this card, spoil yourself, no limit” what would you buy?

something you’ve had your eye on but usually wouldn’t get for yourself or just something you decide on a whim you want..

A new e bike, as I have crashed mine this week!

Oh no! Can’t you claim on your house insurance?

Ramblingaway · 24/08/2026 19:16

Double vodka and coke and a packet of crisps? Oh sorry, only envisaged getting as far as the bar with his card 🤣.

PearlsTeapot · 24/08/2026 19:24

A jellycat!

Dipytique candles.

PixieCrust · 24/08/2026 19:25

@Askandyforcompo DH and I stayed at Watergate Bay hotel in Cornwall, the food was v fancy, I used the spa, it was a lot more than I would normally spend on a weekend away and I would definitely recommend!!

MyManinCaracas · 24/08/2026 19:29

First class return flights to Chicago for a long autumn weekend

BleakAF · 24/08/2026 19:34

I would take my whole family away somewhere fab with a chef and someone to organise us fab activities - Like a private villa where we never have to load the dishwasher. With snorkeling off the private jetty and first class air tickets! And carers for my Dad whilst he was there...

BCBird · 24/08/2026 19:34

No partner, but in the unlikely event this happened and money was no object, I'd opt for a pair of custom.made shoes to accommodate my bunionsConfused

DewDropsAndCobWebs · 24/08/2026 19:37

@NormasArse I could , but I don't want to put my premiums up over a few thousand, as it would be my first claim.
I may be able to have it repaired for around a thousand, getting quotes this week, so fingers crossed

I would buy the wheelchair I have been after for a while. It"s pink, folding and motorised. My current wheelchair is boring black, fourth hand, push along and on it's last legs. I might buy a few little bits too, i am not into designer brands really but I do like clothes and shoes.

beeble347 · 24/08/2026 19:44

A big Hilda af Klimt print and probably some nice knitwear.

BeeBeeHive · 24/08/2026 19:44

I'd book flights/ a holiday. However DH also knows me well enough to know that is exactly what I would do! If that wasn't an option probably a long look in my favourite bookshop, some lovely candles and bath stuff.

beeble347 · 24/08/2026 19:45

If it was really money no object though, I'd get some kind of veneers and get everything lasered, save myself so much minor life admin.

More than likely a bag or a pair of shoes - but what I'd really like is a surprise. I miss surprises. 🎁

Cleanpress · 24/08/2026 20:22

Hmmm, it would need to be an alternate reality where we are rich, and it doesn’t impact family finances but if that WAS the case….I have thought about this often 🤣 ……
Very high end luxury holiday
Multiple spa breaks
Volvo XC40 or 90 in all black
Lots of solid gold jewellery

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 24/08/2026 20:26

In the spirit of playing along and not tearing the question down -

I’d go for something extravagant that wouldn’t be an every day purchase, but not something that would financially ruin us.

so, a YSL bag in a colour way that I have my eye on, instead of a G Wagon.

vincettenoir · 24/08/2026 20:28

I’d go for a solo lunch and then see Hamilton on a Wednesday matinee.

In this moment? And no spending limit at all?

Definitely a vintage automatic watch. Or two. One for every day use, and another as an investment piece. In solid 18K yellow gold.

For the every day watch, it'd be a stainless steel piece...maybe an Omega watch. For the investment piece, a Patek Philippe, definitely.

Echobelly · 24/08/2026 20:31

An art work or some artsy jewellery probably

AgnesMcDoo · 24/08/2026 20:40

Expensive theatre tickets
5 star holiday
luxury experiences

Crispynoodle · 24/08/2026 20:48

I am lucky to have had a 10k windfall. Can’t think of a thing to buy so savings it is!

Autumnallaround · 24/08/2026 20:52

A new cashmere jumper from COS.
I'm not especially bothered about much else. But I do love a good quality washable cashmere jumper to see me through winter.

DH and I had this exact conversation a few weeks ago, he told me to treat myself to something I really wanted and he'd give me the money for my birthday. So I bought a Leica camera. His face went a bit of a funny colour when I gave him the invoice so now apparently he's giving me half the money Hmm

OriginalSkang · 24/08/2026 21:20

I'd have to dream up a partner too!

There is a carved pearl necklace I'd like though

A series of short breaks spread through the year and a spa day a month

Ooh like the idea of a spa day a month
