Just counted 6 in Active with christmas in the title.
Are we being brigaded with extra tinsel?

We like to bring a little bit of "Joy To The World!"

(...that and because Christmas stock is appearing online and in-store).

That's my excuse anyway!

🧑‍🎄🎄❄️🎁☃️⭐

Interesting. I haven't checked, but are you actively starting Christmas threads as some kind of campaign?

I haven't seen christmas stock out yet, but there was a huge explosion of pink Halloween in The Range the other day!

No. 😁 There's a 'Christmas' section under 'Fun and Games' for that 🎄 It's all year 😁

I agree, it's weird, if you're thinking about in August why wouldn't you use the proper section with other people who like that kind of thing all year round. The schools in England haven't even gone back FFS

CatLady199 · 22/08/2026 11:33

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!! 🎄 🎄😁

mynameiscalypso · 22/08/2026 11:37

Ocado have started stocking Christmas stuff like chocolate and advent calendars.

I didn't ask 🎄🥳

I hide all the Christmas threads.

Cuppachuchu · 22/08/2026 11:51

There was a wall of chocolate tubs in my local Tesco last week. 🧱🍫👀

I might have to at this rate.

Ironically including this one?

I just had a look, most are in the correct place eg relationships, parenting, holidays etc, they just happen to be involving Christmas but basically they’re in the right place. A few should have been in the Christmas board though, you can’t complain about those.

Yamadori · 22/08/2026 12:36

I just got home from the garden centre, and in pride of place near the front doors was a large stand full of 2027 calendars and diaries.

No Christmas decorations out as yet, but there was about half an acre of Halloween and autumn themed stuff.

PuttingouthefirewithGasoline · 22/08/2026 12:37

People are making Xmas plans ,mils are thinking ahead to Xmas where they want to host and do it their way and Xmas activities will be getting booked up now !

Hardsell · 22/08/2026 12:40

I start my Christmas shopping in August/September

Pink + Hallowe'en should not appear in the same sentence. IMHO

roshi42 · 22/08/2026 12:40

Most people are sorting out their Christmas plans around now to be fair, if hosting or going to someone else. To leave it later to land yourself on others or reveal that you won’t be spending the day with them would be rude in my opinion! So there’s threads about family irritations related to that. Reasonable enough!

🤣 @Saisong you will be absolutely horrified to know that I've been on the prequel boards, since January 🙈 😊

Ha ha yes!

Christmas stock is starting to appear so I guess people’s minds start to turn to it as school’s go back.

FAR too early imo though I’m someone who doesn’t put their tree up until a few days before!

Mycatisreal · 22/08/2026 13:04

It’s ok to look forward to your summer holidays in advance but not Christmas? Why? Millions of us love it and all the prep. Can’t come soon enough I say

I don't know anyone who's sorting Christmas plans in August. If people want to know what I'm doing four months in advance, then they'd be told to jog on.

I'm pretty sure that most people are not sorting Christmas plans in August unless my whole family, social circle and every work colleague I've ever had are strange outliers that is not a universal thing 😂

There isn't a negative reaction, so I've sent you some flowers. But they are DEAD, you hear me 😉

You would be surprised!

Christmas themed events are selling out, theatre tickets, Santa experiences, restaurants for Christmas Day.... if someone wants to get the best seats/do something specific; you have to book early 🎄

Lilacspring · 22/08/2026 15:01

I've just been shopping in my local morrisons and they have tubs of celebrations, quality street and heroes.

Saisong · 22/08/2026 15:01

Sure people can chat about Christmas, or Eid, or Hanukkah, I'm not the thread police. It was the sheer number all at once, started this morning - a random weekend in August, that looked suspicious. 🎄
