Scrabble is good but what else is there?

I’ve loved playing a board game in an evening with dh. We play Scrabble. I can’t think of any other games to play. I don’t want to play chess or similar (draughts etc), not sure about card games. Any suggestions?

Some of the suggestions won't work for two players, so filter while researching.

Alternatively, you can write a bit more and get better recommendations.

How many players will play most often? How many players need to be able to play?

How long should one game take?

Scrabble is combination of skill and luck. Do you have preference for more/less/similar level of randomness?
This comes with how different each game is - something like Othello always starts the same, other games are more about adjusting your strategy to the random part of the setup.

Do you have some favourite theme? Franchise or just a topic (space, building cities, nature, ...)

How much competitivnes/interaction do you enjoy? Fully cooperative - each building your own and someone will get more points in the end - direct confrontation in some aspects - mutually assured destruction.

Maybe you dont have all answers now, but deciding what matters will help you navigate the options.
