I'm not really sure why you asked if you're going to be so dismissive of everyone's responses. You could have said early on in the thread yes it's the right height and yes she loves Frozen. Great, then it's the scooter for her! But I was giving you my experience of an 8 year old who still watches Peppa Pig regularly so isn't some cool, grown-up type.

I've taught Y3, Y4 or Y3/4 for over a decade and whilst Frozen might be rated for 6+, it's not what girls that age are typically into. You see loads of three year in Elsa dresses - they've not necessarily seen the film, they just love Elsa with her blonde hair and nice singing. You're being completely unrealistic if you don't think children will declare some things babyish at some point. The girls I teach wouldn't make fun of anyone for having a Frozen scooter but it definitely wouldn't be the first choice for the majority of the. If you know she will love it because she's a big Frozen fan then obviously just go for it.

I mean if Frozen is babyish and Peppa isn't - shows it all relative as I would say Peppa is 'younger' than Frozen.

I know plenty of adults who like Frozen - I mean not to the tune of dressing up but ya know. She has also asked for a new Elsa dress and a Princess Aurora dress.

Sorry, I didn't explain that well. I mean she still watches Peppa Pig - she's definitely not into all cool grown-up things, make up and whatever else. No way would she admit to it at school 😂 And a child did comment when I unthinkingly brought a Peppa Pig water bottle to a party when they were 6.

Again, I'm genuinely totally confused why you posted. I went back to look at your OP and you literally asked, is she too old for this? I think you're being either deliberately obtuse or you just don't understand trends at all saying adults like Frozen. That doesn't matter to 8 year old girls. But you say your daughter does like Frozen. So what's the issue? Clearly she will like it.

How about this one?

Buy cheap, buy twice. Honestly, the micro scooters are worth every penny. My kids tell me they steer lovely, keep their looks and the lights continue to work despite the bashing they take. They are super solid.

Okay thanks, I am on a bit of a budget this year - tighter than usual. The second one is £60!

Second the micro scooter, lasted years.

Cantering87 · 07/08/2026 23:09

Mine would be ridiculed for having a Frozen scooter. Sad but true,

Lindtnotlint · 07/08/2026 23:20

A two wheeled scooter is a great gift and you don’t have to spend a bomb. I wouldn’t get Frozen though - you want it to last and the risk is she will grow out of Frozen within the year. Frozen is awesome, but does age out….

Thecatspjymas · 07/08/2026 23:33

My 8 year old wouldn’t have liked the frozen aspect and I would assume her friends might make comments about it

MySneakyLion · 08/08/2026 01:26

orangehandles · 06/08/2026 22:44

Is it the right size to last for several years as she gets taller?

It’s only £16.99 so who cares 🤣

liveforsummer · 08/08/2026 02:10

This won’t be big enough for an 8 yo and will be flimsy and not much fun to ride. Not to mention the frozen theme which not many 8 yo’s are still in to or probably won’t be for long

I showed her a bunch and she asked for the frozen one but I will tell her it was out of stock. I think it is very sad that at 8 Frozen is babyish - a 4 year old would barely understand the story!

She's asked for a frozen dress too, should I not get her that?

Exactly! I just thought a cheap one was a good idea and if she likes being on it I will upgrade at Christmas!

It matches her height by a long way - she is small for her age (wears 4-5/5-6 clothing). But I take the comments about being flimsy and rubbish to ride. I will get a different one.

You’re her mum. Does she like frozen? Does she like scooting? If yes sounds fab. Also incredibly reasonably priced. Might order one for my DD myself! Thanks

This was my thought but it seems many think it Frozen is babyish.

You said she likes Frozen and will fit that scooter so go for it.
We had a micro scooter that was a xmas gift lovely to ride but it was stolen..not always a good idea to have best brands.

Cantering87 · 08/08/2026 09:36

I think you’re being a bit unfair OP. You keep making comments like ‘many on here think it’s too babyish.’ Etc like we’re out here encouraging our children to grow up too soon. I think most people commenting know that most 8 year old children would consider it too babyish, I literally have two 8 YO’s so just gave an honest opinion, that doesn’t mean we are happy with that societal attitude. Also, you don’t have to conform, if your daughter wants it then you get it, it takes people being a bit different to make changes to societal views. For £16.99 I would go ahead, you could spend that on a cinema ticket / funfair / go karting. I think it’s great that she still loves Frozen (I bet loads of commenters do) but that wasn’t what we were being asked.

Needmorelego · 08/08/2026 09:47

@FedUp120028 I still think you should go and actually test out scooters as often it's more about how she rides it - not what colour/picture is on it.
Some scooters are heavier than others. Have different style handles. Even smoother wheels.
If you go to Smyths you can also look at other Frozen toys and see if she likes anything.
Many 8 year olds might think dress up outfits are "babyish" but the Barbie style dolls or Frozen Lego sets are cool.

Erghhh how horrible to steal a kids scooter. Sorry that happened.

Yeah I'll take her to smyths to test some out.

This is the list I have for her so I am hoping I have picked okay.

Arsenal Kit w/name and number
Scooter
Magnetic Hangman
KPOP DH Outfit
Magic set & Lego Friends set
Frozen/Aurora Dress
Kids makeup
Magnetic Blocks
Little craft hamper
KPOP DH pop vinlys.

People who care about not wasting money on something that's only going to last a few months instead of a few years.
People who care about not wasting the planet's resources.
People who care about being given a birthday present they outgrow in no time.

I could go on if you like...😁

That’s a great list of presents. I have a kiddie birthday coming up and magnetic hangman sounds fab 🥰

Thank you! She is obsessed with playing Hangman at the minute and she saw this game on youtube video I was watching - I told her it was only available in the US haha. It's so cool if you lose and the final leg goes on it all falls apart 😁
