No it’s lovely

KnickerlessFlannel · 06/08/2026 22:41

Will it suit her height and interests?

Shloopie · 06/08/2026 22:41

Surely you're the only one who can say. If she enjoys scootering it looks like a great present. I see people of all ages on scooters!

I vividly remember getting a bike for my 8th birthday and I loved it so I’m sure a child now would love it just as much as I did back in the day

LeopardPrintIsNeutral · 06/08/2026 22:44

You’re her mum. Does she like frozen? Does she like scooting? If yes sounds fab. Also incredibly reasonably priced. Might order one for my DD myself! Thanks

orangehandles · 06/08/2026 22:44

Is it the right size to last for several years as she gets taller?

Quokkafeet · 06/08/2026 22:44

Does she still like frozen? If so, absolutely fine.

TooMatchaMatcha · 06/08/2026 22:47

I think it would be too young for some 8 year olds but not for all. It might not have a lot of longevity but that might not be a deal-breaker for you.

Janefx40 · 06/08/2026 22:48

The scooter could be great, my DD would love the LED wheels but it depends if she likes Frozen at this point. My DD is 7 and isn’t into Frozen these days. She loves KPop Demon Hunters but was too embarrassed to wear her new T-shirt with it on because the other kids at school don’t like it any more which made me feel really sad. I wish she could be proud of the things she likes. Anyway am just relating that in case your DD is the same about Frozen. But if she likes Frozen and scooting then it could be a winner!

frenchnoodle · 06/08/2026 22:49

Would she like it?

Isitholidayyet · 06/08/2026 22:52

i have a just about to turn 8 year old and for her this would be too young. She is too old for the lights and anything character based. I suspect it would also be too small

MotherOfCrocodiles · 06/08/2026 23:46

Scooter fine (if tall enough for her). Light up wheels fine. Frozen, probably not cool in year 4, sorry.

Needmorelego · 07/08/2026 00:00

Has she asked for a scooter?
When my daughter wanted one we took her to Smyths to try them out.
One she had seen a picture of and originally liked the look of turned out to have weird shape handles that she didn't like so she chose a different one.
To me buying a scooter is a lot like buying a bike - you need to test them out.

Walkerzoo · 07/08/2026 00:02

Scooter yes. That one is a no.

BauhausOfEliott · 07/08/2026 00:25

I’d have thought that was for a younger child, more around the 5-6 age range. A scooter is a nice idea and if she likes girly colours there will be plenty of more grown-up options in pinks and purples etc, but I think character-themed bikes/scooters are usually for younger kids.

It says the size is for 5+ so I also suspect it might be too small.

Yes and no.
Yes - frozen is not cool for 8 year olds.
No-two wheeler is ideal for 8 year olds.

Yoheresthestory · 07/08/2026 08:17

Frozen is a bit young for an 8 yr old I think. More like 4-5 and it’s very old now in terms of hot movies.

WhatNextImScared · 07/08/2026 08:21

No

Edenmum2 · 07/08/2026 08:40

Having seen this in person I would say try and get her a more sturdy one. This one is very small and rickety (hence the price) my 4 year old has tried it and it’s not easy or enjoyable to ride.

Lentilcakes · 07/08/2026 08:44

I’d not get a Frozen - get one that’ll last a couple of years until end of primary, not a character scooter.

Bitzee · 07/08/2026 09:09

That style of scooter is ideal for an 8YO. Frozen probably too babyish and she might be embarrassed to ride it in front of her friends. At 8 DD made a huge fuss about wearing a Frozen buff skiing, she’d had it since she was about 4 and it hadn’t occurred to me to replace it until she declared it too embarrassing for ski school. Does it come in any other designs?

Quokkafeet · 07/08/2026 09:12

I would also recommend a more expensive brand of scooter such as micro as they run better and last better. My kids have always had micro scooters and we have never bought them new. Last one I bought was around £15-20 on marketplace and it looked good as new.

rbe78 · 07/08/2026 15:50

I would say the Frozen theme is fine now but would limit its longevity. She will have grown out of Frozen in a year or two and it will be embarrassing for her to ride it then. A plain coloured scooter she might use for years.

Favouritefruits · 07/08/2026 15:52

My 8 year old would be way too tall for that scooter.

KentnotClarke · 07/08/2026 15:52

As pp said two wheel are hard .
Getting the proper three wheel maybe better to use I can't remember the name of yne popular brand it's pricey we got ours cheaper from a German shop called den rollenshop

Micro scooter that's it !
