What do you think you can eat in limitless amount and have you ever tried? 😂🤮

For me:

Lidl bakery brownie - not tried, but I think I need to learn my limit
Tiramisu - tried, failed after a few decent table spoonfuls
Smoked salmon - not tried, expensive
Blue cheese - not tried, too scared

DD (26) is the same with salmon and tiramisu, we did the tiramisu together last year. She was making bold claims about coleslaw and sauerkraut, but not sure if there was any action.

Spicy Nik naks

LejlaKapovic · 05/08/2026 20:23

Oh, also tea sandwiches. Egg mayo and coronation chicken to be exact.

I think they have Honey in them

I’ve been reading around this and it’s a it more interesting than that. Some cereals have vitamin D, which is usually made from lanolin from sheep’s wool. Many cereals have sugar that is refined with char made from animal bones, or have carmine made from crushed cochineal beetles. It’s a minefield now because even fruit can be non vegan or vegetarian because it’s coated in beeswax or shellac

Decent red wine, mature British & French cheeses & warm, freshly baked white bread with real butter. Yes, I have tried, and no, I didn’t feel great afterwards.

mamaduckbone · 05/08/2026 20:27

There are some Aldi savoury rosemary crackers that I think I could just keep going with. They’re so salty and moreish, and usually I’m more of a sweet tooth person. Possibly also Minstrels, although they do make the roof of your mouth sore eventually (not that I’ve ever eaten a whole sharing bag, of course)

Mashed potato. I always make far too much and just have to finish it. I can have 2nds 3rds 4ths and 5ths. There is no off switch.

Mumtotornadoes · 05/08/2026 20:32

Yorkshire puddings, just plain

Deuce26 · 05/08/2026 20:33

Roasties

DramaAlpaca · 05/08/2026 20:36

Those 'family' sized (ha!) bags of Kettle chips. I can't have them in the house because I don't trust myself.

Tesco chicken and bacon salad meal deal (with cheddars and a cherry coke)

I buy them for my lunch at work (that or chicken fajita wrap) but try to chop and change so I don't go off them

I'd be fucked if I did go off them as its my lunch and I don't like any of the other sandwiches

I'd live on them and nothing else given the chance

OMG Yes. I've retired now, but that was my meal deal lunch every day at work too!

Farkinhell · 05/08/2026 20:39

Jaffa cakes... I've eaten two tubes of them in a sitting easily so I'm sure I could do more.

Crisps, we rarely buy crisps due to my lack of self control

Oh, I hear ya very loud and clear! Bloody addictive

louderthan · 05/08/2026 20:42

Cucumber
Baby plum tomatoes
Mozzarella and Parma ham
Olives
Watermelon
Liquorice
Twister ice lollies

beeny · 05/08/2026 20:42

samosas and toblerones

SunwaysSystems · 05/08/2026 20:52

Oooh yes to buttery crumpets with marmite (or grilled cheese) and popadom with pickle tray. Best food ever.

Lifejigsaw · 05/08/2026 21:00

M&S chocolate covered bourbons. I ate 5 yesterday and only stopped because I read the nutritional info 😳

Confusedmommadrama · 05/08/2026 21:04

Jaffa cakes, defo tried and succeeded many times. Those giant long tubes of them, easily demolished

Damnedidont · 05/08/2026 21:15

Freshly peeled prawns! I cannot afford to eat them to excess...

Pedallleur · 05/08/2026 21:15

Cheese. Not grated packet stuff but from a proper shop who cut and wrap it. I could buy a kilo each of certain ones and it would be gone v.quicly accompanied by some nice (crisp) grapes. Not eaten a kilo (yet) but have eaten 150g of expensive cheese and could have eaten more. I don't buy lots for this reason

climbintheback · 05/08/2026 21:57

Tried it with strawberries and my tongue swelled up!

I work in HR. I would love this to come through as a sickness absence reason! 😂

SquigglePigs · 05/08/2026 22:00

Salmon sashimi. Never tried (too expensive) but reckon I could get through a good couple of dozen slices.

Victorius19 · 05/08/2026 22:03

Cantaloupe melon. I think I could eat it continuously forever. It's my latest food obsession.

LasVegass · 05/08/2026 22:16

Watermelon
nectarines
blueberries

Today I ate 5 custard doughnuts from Sainsburys. I’d intended to have one as a treat and share the rest. Not my finest lunch hour.

CypressMoon · 05/08/2026 22:29

Ready salted crisps. Not the posh oily ones but the basics. I could easily work my way through a family pack every day,
