Anyone else awake for a ridiculous reason?

Had mild ear pain on and off for 3 months. Finally got someone to look in it (a friend with a medical background). Thought it might be a bit of inflammation or an infection. Turns out that time I took my tshirt off over my head and couldn't find my earring back was due to it being in my ear canal. Can't get to a&e until Thursday. Much more painful now my ear has been manipulated to get a good view! Lesson learned. If your ear hurts, don't wait to get it checked out! Highly embarrassing reading that 95% of people who get things stuck in their ears are under the age of 8... anyone else up?

Hey! That sounds very painful. Also have earache due to a sinus infection. The reason I am awake is because I was hanging out the holiday washing whilst watching murder documentaries, but also because DH has lost our bedroom remote control and I am worried about not being able to turn the tv on in the morning to watch breakfast tv, he will leave early so it won’t bother him. Where is the remote!! He is now happily loudly snoring next to me.

Morning. I start work at 6am but a combination of high temperatures and Peri Menopause means I am currently hot enough to offer my services as an Aga. Ear pain is the worst, I sympathise.

Just woken up from a very weird and convoluted dream where I was very drunk and trying to get away from my exhusband and his second wife because he was going to force me into a as he called it "Mental asylum'. Involved lots of stairs lifts and long corridors in a very posh hotel

All very valid reasons to be awake. I am now feeling murderous as DH has turned over and is now snoring in my ear. Have to be up in 4hours and 17mins…

I'm currently awake listening to very loud snoring in my ear from someone who will claim to have not slept!

Mixture of knowing I need to sleep and probably menopause, insomnia, tinnitus 😫

Wide awake after ironically going for an early night and my brain now decided that since I usually have a rubbish night's sleep I've had my quota for tonight 😴 (also may be due to worrying about hospital appointment tomorrow - well, later today - but have pretty much decided to cancel) I just want some sleep 😴 💤

I'm putting in a delay repay claim for my cancelled train. My Trainline app is glitching and wouldnt show the ticket. So it's taken ages.

Had a hysterectomy on Friday and my digestive system hasnt gone back to normal yet, so I'm awake and bloated

Anyone know if it is likely to take more than 3 hours in a&e to have this thing removed from my ear? I have 3 hours tomorrow!

I’m currently away on holiday by myself, and my family join me tomorrow (well, today!).

I’m looking forward to seeing them, but I know it will be nosier and more crowded once them are here. I’m delaying going to sleep, as I’m just enjoying the peace and quiet too much 😁 (I know I’ll be tired as a result, but hey ho!).

Op not sure where you are fo a&e but I’m in hospital atm and it took 10 hours for arrival to being seen by the doctors and another 8 hours to be admitted. That’s wa son Sunday and I’m still here. Do you have an ear clinic near you? Or minor injuries hospital? Maybe call 111 and ask for the best place.

Well I’ve just had the police at my front door! Top tip.. never sleep on the pull out sofa naked (because your hot) with a fan blowing full blast 😆 I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that I had to go to the blinds covering my tits shouting let me put some clothes on at 1.30 in the morning with a flashlight being shined on me!

Not gone to bed yet due to semi-nocturnal DC. Yawn.

Don’t sleep well anyway (thanks perimenopause) but my son got his exam results today and they weren’t what he expected so I’m stressing and upset over that 😢

Morning all. Wide awake due to hot flush. Stupidly had some chocolate. Know it makes me have a hot flush- yet somehow temporarily forgot!! Alarm in 2 hours. Only had 3 hours sleep-!!

Perimenopause. Been awake since 1. Currently in the gym taking it all out on some weights!

Just woke up, and for once without anxiety! Feel like I've just jinxed myself with that....

Nearly three weeks post knee replacement surgery and just cannot manage to sleep on my back as is recommended……so running into a bigger and bigger sleep deficit. Not to mention pain ……

I’m awake trying to help my son get home from Paris - he and his gf have been for their first holiday together and the flight back from Mallorca has had to make an emergency landing due to engine failure. He’s very shaken, been up all night and trying to work out how to get home as the airline aren’t giving them any information and he has a hospital appointment tomorrow afternoon that he really needs to get home for. The joys of budget air travel.

mot awake for any particular reason, i just often wake around this time. I laid here for about half an hour and now I’ve picked up my phone for company, dh sleeping soundly next to me. Think I might go downstairs and read my book…

You could try going to an audiologist who do the ear syringing and see if they can do it with tweezers or something? I don’t imagine you need to be a qualified doctor to remove things from ears, just be good at ears.
