Things to do in Blackpool?

What can me and dd15 do in Blackpool? Taking into account i don't drive. Want it walking distance if possible. We are staying Blackpool north area. We are there for the weekend/3 nights. I have booked viva. Hoping to find something fun. Not the amusement park though.

Also viva allows us to pre order food and drink . But it seems like its only alcohol and food we can't pre order soft drinks. I'm not sure if I'm just missing it or if thats actually right. Does anyone happen to know?:

My parents have been for a couple of nights last week and had a great time at the zoo and the model village.

We did ballroom, Blackpool Tower, Madam Tussauds, Dungeon and walk along the seafront. It was very compact.

Sherunswithwolves · 02/08/2026 21:25

The zoo is accessible by public bus from outside the train station.

Blackpool? The first thing to do is get a tetanus.

Pistachiocake · 02/08/2026 21:43

Stanley Park, Tower, Sea Life, Sandcastle (fairly long walk to that one and the park) pier, carriages, crazy golf

ilovemykindle · 02/08/2026 21:44

Stanley park, boating on the lake, model village. The zoo.

Grange over sands

Seafront is great. It's all been widened so walk along it to Bispham (ice cream shop) or Cleveleys. Bus down to Lytham? Might be a show at the Winter Gardens

Wot2do22 · 02/08/2026 22:37

Does anyone know much about the circus?

Just 4 or 5 posts in and someone posts to bash Blackpool. How tedious and predictable. 😴

Carouseloflife · 02/08/2026 22:41

The Hot Ice Show is good, the circus is okay, the tower is good for a visit.

pavementpolice · 02/08/2026 22:42

Blackpool is great for a few days. The zoo, Sea life, Sandcastle, Madam Tussauds, the Tower, loads of lovely restaurants. The Beach House, The Eating Inn...all wonderful

Check out the Arcade Club, it's near the football stadium and once you've paid to go in all the gaming machines are free to play, they have loads of retro machines and pinball. My teenager loved it. There's also the traditional ticket winning arcades like Coral Island but you can quickly spend a lot there. The Sandcastle water park is worth a visit but go early in the day as it gets really busy later on. Definitely the zoo too, it's one of the best zoos we've visited and they have a baby elephant and 3 new lion cubs born very recently. There's also a lovely retro carousel on the North pier that's worth a visit. Round one of your days off with a trip to Bentleys chippy.

FionnulaTheCooler · 02/08/2026 23:09

Oh and you can catch the tram along to the market at Fleetwood. I've not done this yet as we found out about it too late the last time but its on my list for next time.

@Carouseloflife what is hot ice like? I was just looking at the circus but now I'm not sure. Is thete a story line to hot ice?

Leave as soon as possible. Go to St. Anne’s for the day. It’s lovely.

Bjorkdidit · 03/08/2026 08:56

Lily's was named in iWeekend recently as the best place for fish and chips.
