If so, did it help and in what form did you take it?

I took it for inflammatory, not osteo, arthritis because it’s supposed to help reduce inflammation. I got the expensive one with piperine and what have you and took it scrupulously for 2 months. No change. Not continued with it even though it’s possibly a general prophylactic of some sort. Can’t be arsed.

Yes my husband was recommended glucosamine by his GP who said its 50:50. My husband who hates supplements with a passion begrudgingly admits its helped a fair bit. Not entirely of course. Ill find the link...

I know an equine health specialist and turmeric does work for horses, although some of them don't like the taste. The supplement I know of also includes glucosamine plus a couple of secret ingredients. Other supplements used for horses are boswellia and also apparently, biotin. But they are also mixed with other ingredients too to improve efficacy.

Arthritic horses have no idea they are being given a supplement, so if it works, it works. They can't decide whether they think it is working or not.

Caveat: I know nothing about the effects of any of these on humans. What I do know is that any supplement has just as much in the way of chemicals in it as a prescribed medication. They can be seriously harmful in the wrong dose or combination.

Also it doesn’t play well with Fluoxetine (Prozac) - can’t remember why.

I take Boswelia too. No idea if it helps. Off now to research glucosamine. I tried creatine too but the flatulence made me stop but I think that might have helped.
