So, they spin a load of guff about sending in the navy and hope nobody remembers the Navy refused to do this for a whole myriad of reasons - the Navy won’t break maritime laws, there are no international waters in the channel, the boats used are too flimsy to be boarded and they risk drowning people (appreciate that’s the outcome desired by some) and they will only use French waters with permission etc etc blah blah.
