I was reading a fb post linking to a media article about our Nigel’s alleged corruption - many normal comments - but still people commenting saying ‘yes but - he’s the only man to save our country’ - assume the ‘yes but’ is like the Brexit thing there was - I will die for my feelz’ - sigh.

On a happier note we ran a game at a festival yesterday called hoop the racist - lots hooped Farage and we raised some cash for the refugee kids’ seaside trip - note I’m not saying he’s good for this at least, he’s still good for nothing.

Anyone noted that a few “poor TR threads” have popped up thinly disguised as anti him?

Yes, he’s definitely being romanticised in some quarters. And he’s definitely not antisemitic apparently.

The OP of the most recent one didn't come back to the thread.

Oh, yes, the "but what has he actually said that is a problem?" type posts.

Notonthestairs · 03/08/2026 08:59

The timing is interesting. Lowe's non offer to Farage was, IMV, geared to peel away more Reform voters rather than extend the olive branch. He's using Farage to get his offer out.

Farage knows he can't extend his reach AND include the fascist element of Lowe's group or TR. The one will alienate the other and vice versa.

TR threads are very obviously designed to publicise his position.
& Lowe has made it clear he wouldn't turn TR away.

Notonthestairs · 03/08/2026 09:01

The sheer number of posts on those threads are intended to keep the thread in active.

I'm sure this is sucking eggs territory, but clicking "see all" from the OP can be a good way to gauge a threads s/n ratio.

Ages ago there was a suggestion in "site stuff" that a little number on the thread listing of posts from the OP could improve site efficiency. However because endless scrolling on a thread only to realise it was a post'n'run increases the number of ads you see ....

Yes. Any post with over 100 replies I always check OPs posts/ or if they’ve replied before doing anything else.

Ohs like some rule I’ve set myself to weedle out time wasters and bad actors!

Can you put a direct link to the home office? Would be helpful thanks.

That is a direct link to the home office’s twitter page

I couldn't find it ?

Nor can I find the story anywhere except social media ?

If a direct link to the Home Office site with that news can be posted, could this be counted as request too ?

BREAKING: Parliamentary standards commissioner is now investigating Reform UK’s Deputy Leader Richard Tice (as well as its paused investigation into Nigel Farage).

Tice is being investigated for allegedly failing to declare a financial interest.

About time Tice was investigated.

Doesn’t it? Sadly I suspect Lowe is as happy as us at seeing the wheels fall off.

It is funny.
mainly because the announcement of the gibberish Navy-in-the-Channel “policy” was obviously issued to distract from the investigation.

Reform would have been advised in advance that the Standards Committee was going to open an investigation. So, they spin a load of guff about sending in the navy and hope nobody remembers the Navy refused to do this for a whole myriad of reasons - the Navy won’t break maritime laws, there are no international waters in the channel, the boats used are too flimsy to be boarded and they risk drowning people (appreciate that’s the outcome desired by some) and they will only use French waters with permission etc etc blah blah.

But the steady mounting up of financial investigations is cutting through. Tice will have to duck yet more questions. And it’s not like he can throw the same by election tantrum as Farage - his majority is 2,000.

Efacsen · 03/08/2026 11:37

Parliamentary Standards Comm will have to take on more staff soon with all the extra work Reform have created for them Smile

Well one of their promises was to increase jobs 😉

Just to add - The investigation was launched on 28th July.
So Reform are basically spouting any old shit to deflect.

Notonthestairs · 03/08/2026 11:51

Because they are big old meanies.

“Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him”

Nigel Farage claims he was bullied into taking up the endless requests to stand as MP and still insists he had eyes on exciting events happening in the US and considered moving there.

What a disastrous presser predicated on fear, I.e. small boats are a national emergency.

As in 'If you don't stand for Parliament, I won't give you 5 million quid' sort of bullying?

Yes that will be it.

LizzieW1969 · 03/08/2026 13:06

At the same time, he’s using the small boats to deflect. He knows he can sound tough safe in the knowledge that he’ll never have to actually make it happen in real time.

Very few people would care about small boats if Farage and Lowe didn’t keep shitstirring.
