Please help me power of mumsnet. Daughter has asked for a toy to match her favourite book, dogger by Shirley hughes. I have attached a pic of the toy from the book. Does anyone know a soft toy that could pass as him? Thank you!

Just the mention of Shirley Hughes’s books makes me choke up a little.
I loved them and the illustrations are so beautiful in an emotional way that’s hard to express.

I read Dogger to my class a while ago and struggled to hold it together. It was the mum with clogs, long skirt and her hair up in a headscarf, and funnily enough the metal dust pan with the brush with a wooden handle. It was so nostalgic.

I loved Dogger too and reading the book to my children. Sorry, not helpful

Dogger''s face always reminds me of a Norfolk terrier:

But a DOGGER would go out DOGGING no?
Also this thread did remind me of the hilarious episode of Peter Kay’s Car Share #iykyk

Sorry to those who wanted a juicier thread :D but you have made me smile!

they are so very nostalgic. I am lucky that my daughter prefers the old style stories and illustrations. Tiger who came to tea is another favourite. I am checking out all dogger recommendations now!
