Please help me power of mumsnet. Daughter has asked for a toy to match her favourite book, dogger by Shirley hughes. I have attached a pic of the toy from the book. Does anyone know a soft toy that could pass as him? Thank you!

Sorry can't help with the toy but just wanted to say how much my ( now adult) DS loved Dogger when he was young. In fact we absolutely loved all the Shirley Hughes books. I couldn't bear to part with them and still have them.

We had one that was a dead ringer for Dogger but that was 12 years ago, ket me see if I can find a picture and if I can do a reverse image search

I am in my 40s and when I was very small my big sis sewed the ear of my stuffed dog to stick up just like dogger!

Wonderful book. There don’t seem to be any book and toy sets which is a shame. Like the PP idea of saying that this was before he’d been cuddled so much.

Just the mention of Shirley Hughes’s books makes me choke up a little.
I loved them and the illustrations are so beautiful in an emotional way that’s hard to express.

Yes! As someone mentioned TY Beanie Babies Tuffy the Terrier is a dead ringer for the beloved Dogger :)

You can't see from the front, but it has dark patches on its back and also isn't really lying down (or the one we have isn't) so doesn't look very like dogger except for the face.

I don’t have anything amongst all the soft toys but Dogger will always be in my heart, loved that book
@Candleabra I think it’s that it’s ordinary life lovingly recorded? I was just thinking about it the other day, no Shirley Hughes book will be passed on/recycled in my lifetime 🥹 and I’m 2 degrees of separation from one of the children in a SH book 🤫 I hope you find a Dogger toy @Defrostedmariahcarey 🙏🏽
