saving up hiring a carpet cleaner for August.

I’ve just replaced the split pole on the gazebo. The whole thing is disintegrating after being in the garden for the last month.

• Organised the linen cupboard
• Cleaned the washing machine

Sorted stuff for Vinted and charity shops.
Taken a child’s sample to the doctors. Quite literally a shit job.
Sorted a vet visit for our pet.

Today’s job is to get rid of the cobwebs from windows and put on the 1000th load of washing this holiday.

Cleaned out both hoovers, washed all the filters on them and got rid of all their collected hair on the rollers.

@iCod it took far less time than I thought it would, no idea why I put it off so long.

I've also moved the courgette plant in the garden as it’s struggling to produce courgettes in the heatwave.

I don't have kids at home anymore, so I've got all the time in the world once school finishes, but somehow there's the head fuck about doing things.

I've also found in the winter when you can't really see (also very ancient) that you have to leave things to the weekend.

Took my car for it's MOT. Opted to wait, wish I hadn't as it took 3 hours

Oh, I did annual service! First day of the holidays I forgot that

We are on the final stage of the garden. So far we have used and waterproofed 24 sleepers and bolted and cut them to make raised beds. We have used 50 huge bags of compost to fill them and planted trees (that was Easter) May half term was7 tonnes of aggregate to make a base and level and whack it down with anti weed membrane layers a foot down etc we have just spent a week making a timber frame and put down 250 kg of rock dust and now levelling the final bit and putting the Astro turf down (this is the third layer in our terraced garden a posh dogs toilet!) 😆. And tomorrow and Wednesday nailing it down and then zeolite in all 250 kg of that and then going on holiday.

Cleared my late mum’s house. Including linen cupboard, deplumbing washing machine, taking home 15 half used bottles of different spray cleaner.

but best of all, dug out 10 bags of beautifully rotted compost and leaf mould that she had spent her last years cultivating! I double checked and it’s not part of the fixtures and fittings so that black gold is heading straight to my roses!

Not a teacher but support staff in a high school so hoping I count! Sadly my holidays did not match with my own kids this year (I work in a different county) so I’m basically playing catch up as everyone else has already had a week off!

So far I have deep cleaned the house and starting packing for holiday. Got to get my 3 kids to an about a million appointments this week too. Oh and I built some Lego (but that’s not boring lol)

I’ve been really busy watching tv! Hours and hours of it! Marvellous.

I've read 7 books.

Rearranged dentist and orthodontist appointments for DD.

Sorted out the broken smart meter connection and renewed electricity tariff.

Looked at new cars (need to replace mine soon) and arranged a test drive.

Had a hair cut.

Been for a blood test.

I was going to touch up the painted cupboards in our bedroom but I seem to have existed and severely injured my knee so now I'm sat trying to begin arranging a mortgage renewal!

Painted the hall, stairs and landing.

Cleaned my daughter's bedroom and washed everything from her floordrobe (five loads of washing) - still ongoing as we need to tackle the wardrobes but at least now we can get to them and open the doors!

Is your daughter somehow incapacitated?!

That is a very good question. I am quite sure she has inattentive ADHD although she doesn't want to pursue diagnosis at this stage. She has an absolute inability to organise, sort, tidy stuff. She has always been like this and, over the years, we have been through many, many sanctions and consequences for not keeping her room tidy but none have worked. She will go to tidy her room, but get completely swept up in organising something completely random and the rest of the room could be on fire around her and she wouldn't notice. I let it go on for so long but, every so often, I tackle it. She has been away at a friend's house this weekend so I have given it a good sort out. She will be extremely grateful when she returns as she really, really does want a tidy space. She just finds the whole thing so completely overwhelming that she doesn't even know how to begin. And we will now be able to sort out the wardrobes which will give her more storage. I know I am probably crazy but it affects her mental health so much when it is a mess and then it becomes a vicious cycle.

Sorted out bank account, tax and paperwork for my new side business (which hopefully means I won’t teach in school past 60)

Oh I also built my new clavinova! And have been giving DS2 piano lessons.

It annoys me that I can’t keep properly in top of house stuff during term time but I’m at my desk at 7.15am and am really tired by end of play.
