Does anyone have a parrot?

Thinking of rescuing one. We’re retired so have plenty of time at home, but don’t want another dog or cat. The house is quiet tho and we would love something.
Would welcome any thoughts or advice.

You've made the right choice OP. It's my view that birds can't really be kept ethically as pets, and especially birds so intelligent as parrots.

A friend of mine has two parrots and this has only strengthened my view. She's got two of them, the parrots hate each other. One parrot loves and is sexually attracted to my friend but hates friends husband, the other one vice versa. It's a nightmare. They are constantly being attacked or wooed by a parrot. And there's shit everywhere.
