I want to like him but am finding him quite annoying and smug. I'm worried the power will go to his head.

Well they’ve already done things that weren’t in the manifesto - infact they did things they promised over and over that they wouldn’t do - Increase taxes on working people.

So we can expect this unelected prime minister to do the same.

I don't have a personal opinion about him yet but I think that the manner in which he became PM risks setting a bad precedent and potentially weakens the UK's authority and impact on the world stage. (If so, I hope that whatever he accomplishes domestically is worth it.) Had it been someone with a strong international reputation and experience who knows the major players internationally and was perceived as "returning" it could possibly have worked, but nobody outside of the UK really knows who he is so it seems a little shady. Plus no one knows why a new PM was needed anyway.

But maybe he'll be absolutely brilliant and everyone will forget or not care how he got there, Zelenskyy-style. Stranger things have happened.

He's all about taking from the South and giving to the Sorth. He has that Northern chip on his shoulder and he's going to make it his mission to in his eyes "even things up" but he's just a bloke with a bee in his bonnet about a perceived North South divide. All this crap about a no 10 North. Before his first day even. Please do me a favour. You're pm and you live and work at 10 Downing Street. What makes you so special that you can change all those years of history? I know, how about Trump deciding he wants to work in New York and not Washington.
Also, not all gov jobs are southern. Dvla? Wales. Dwp is in the north. He irritated me years ago going on about the North and how it's not fair. What's fair? That the North has more disposable income because their homes and services are cheaper? Try living and surviving financially in the south - it's not all it's cracked up to be!
