I don't mean the things that get discussed all the time
For me
One of the things that upsets me is the decay of British seaside towns .
I remember going to Blackpool as a child as having fantastic holidays in the 1970s .
I went back about 10 years ago and was so shocked at how rundown it was .
We tend to always holiday in the UK ..and I've noticed lots of places we visited,the town centre is run down ..
It feels like they are being left to rot .
I also want a government that makes big changes in education
I have relatives who's child has spent 3 years at college retaking GCSE maths and English..to be able to do the retake he has to be enrolled on a foundation course..but they don't let him progress to the next level ,each time he fails ,he has to start another foundation course in a different subject..
he's going to leave college,with no maths or English GCSE,and three Foundation courses..two of which he's not the slightest bit interested in.
How is that going to get him a job...he's qualified for nothing after 3 years at college.
Our local college won't let the children do functional skills untill 19 and attending adult education in an evening.
I want a government that puts in place ,where every child leaves college at 19 with a skill or trade to get a job ,if they are going to university.
Anything else is a waste of time and money

To sort education, housing, NHS, benefits.
Don't expect a lot.

To help young people get into the work place.. everywhere expects experience.. but no one is taking on young people to give them the experience... he's set out a 10 year plan... not sure why.. he won't last 10 months .. he's just no intelligence.

Education is number one for me. Funding primarily- but as he is saying he will stick to the fiscal rules I’m not expecting much!
Teacher workload could be at least acknowledged though and something meaningful done about it.
Secondly, food security and agriculture in this country should be far more of a priority- and Ed and his solar ‘farms’ can fuck right off.
Housing - but he says he will help this ….
And the NHS - goes without saying really.

Make Britain great again!
Put British people first!

Economic growth.

Growth is what makes everything else possible.

Without it, all politics is zero sum.

Cost of living, public services, optimism. All comes back to growth.

It’s been missing for 18 years.

We’ve got a few years more at most before we fall into the demographics death spiral.

Do the free stuff: legalise housing, unblock planning, simplify tax, rationalise social housing, reform immigration. Start to build a virtuous cycle of more economic activity, more tax revenue, more to invest and to spend.

Reduce taxes. To stimulate growth.

Won't happen.

For the ministers to be accountable for any failures and missed targets
the country seems to think he is the Messiah !!
stop selling off any social or council housing
do something about the meets and the ever growing welfare bill

To stop going after the pensioners and the middle classes first.

Sort out the incredible waste in the NHS. The way money is spent and wasted is shameful.

Put Britain front and centre and stop pandering to other cultures who have no interest In assimilating. Tackle the grooming gangs and start making our streets safer for everyone but particularly women and girls.

I can't see him doing much of that
It's bizarre he's managed to just pack in one job ,to walk straight in to another

The most important thing to me - them taking accountability for government failures including dealing with government corruption and putting more restraint on those meant to work for us.

Those two would be my top priority largely because I think these play a role in many of the other issues going on.

I'd also like him to prioritise, also from the manifesto:
-- Introduce a participation requirement for MPs
-- Repealing the Legacy Act
-- More progress on the Hillsborough Bill/Public Office (Accountability) Bill (this one is at least making some solid progress).
-- Act on the findings of the infected blood, Grenfell, Covid-19 and Windrush inquiries (I'd add on the more recent Grooming Gangs inquiry), particularly on government failures and where Minister Access for Public Contracts caused public harm.
-- Fully compensate those affected by the Horizon Scandal
-- Automatic suspension of police officers suspected of domestic abuse
-- Reintroduce the socio-economic duty in the Equality Act 2010
-- Close the loophole on Private equity firms treating bonus payments as CGT

I don't expect most of these to be done, and definitely not done in a way that has much teeth to those causing the most harm, much like my wish that the UK government would go for digital autonomy and the government to stop selling so much of our digital infrastructure to the US (meaning a lot of our data is on US servers under US laws) is not something I'd hold my breath for - it would be nice to be wrong and pleasantly surprised.

Triple the amount of police we have, we are becoming lawless.
Open Early Start type centres, some
kids just aren’t parented.
Sort out and correctly fund our education system.
Stop the boats and sort out immigration.
I’m undecided about the NHS and do wonder if we need a different system but have no idea what.

Sort benefits so that work actually pays and benefits aren’t given to those who choose to work part time.

Overhaul the NHS and introduce a payment system similar to some of the EU countries (not US style).

I like the idea of the land tax and scrapping stamp duty and council tax, but it needs to be fair to higher land value areas. High house prices don’t necessarily mean more free cash to pay.

Stop relying more and more on the middle and high earners to keep paying more. Everyone needs to do their bit and contribute to society.

Does that really happen regarding working part time? Does there come a time when you do have to work more hours or can you carry on part time and get a top up forever?

Reduce the benefits bill.
Stop rewarding those who choose to work part time with top up benefits.
Make absent parents pay for their children.
Take child maintenance into account in benefits calculations
Review the triple lock

Affordable public transport.

Public owned utilities.

Spend money on the poor, children and the NHS instead of war, AI or buttering up the rich.

To make wilful non contribution a very unpleasant experience.

Economic growth, and much as it pains me to say it, because I don't want services to be cut, spending has to be got under control.

Yes it does. People have to meet the earnings threshold but it’s quite low, I think around £1k a month, and so many people choose to work part time and get top up UC.

1)Hang around for a full parliamentary term.
2)Give people a little bit of hope.

I feel from week one Starmer /Reeves did not do this. And I was generally a supporter

3)Get rid of all genderist stuff from schools and healthcare and the rest. Make sure the Supreme Court ruling is properly implemented
