Aw that’s so cute. I was ready to join you in a moan of how many times a day we are hearing ‘mum, watch me’ and it’s getting wearing (mine have been off school for 3 weeks…). But this is a sweet reminder that the mum mum mum phase won’t last forever and I might even cherish it when it happens rarely! Thanks.

Aww, you two will always have that bond. It's so precious. I was demanding my own Mum watch me walking on my tippy-toes a few months ago and I am in my 50s. I was recuperating from a broken limb, so it was exciting. She rolled her eyes and said she was happy for me. If I ever manage a handstand in the pool, damn right, I am getting her to watch!

I often feel sad thinking that as my son approaches secondary school, things like “look mum! Watch this” and other sweet little innocent moments will soon be over.. this gives me hope!

My dd was shouting for me last night, “mum, mum, come up and see this!”
I got up there to see she had made her birthday Lego 😂 she’s 20, home from uni and has been waiting to make it for months. So sweet!

Anyway, back to the handstands. Is she any good?

My 18 year old and his girlfriend ordered approx 10 milkshakes and 6-8 ice creams on our last holiday…not one alcoholic drink.

She added some synchronization swimming moves before deciding her tan lines need work.

It’s really funny watching them straddle being old enough to sound wordly wise, but also still needing approval and praise. My DD is 15 and goes from arguing about how to make scrambled eggs, to showing me her latest art project both requiring a level of intensity and attention that I’m sometimes just too tired to give. It’s a real reminder that they aren’t fully grown yet.
