How uncomfortable do you find wearing heels?

My feet are just in agony after like 10 mins. I don’t know how people wear them out for hours. And dance in them

My best heels 👠 are painless, and I'm overweight, so in theory should not be so comfortable. They are made with leather, for stretch and support, and fit well. That being said, I'm used to being on my feet, all day. So probably not a huge stretch to be walking about in heels for a few hours.

I wouldn’t say I find them uncomfortable, but I wear them at most once every 5 years.

Surely, like any other shoe, it completely depends on the shoe? Footbed, width, thickness/rigidness of upper, height of heel, all make a difference. I have heels I live in at times and trainers I won’t wear as the footbed is too uncomfortable.

10/10 agony, I don’t think I’ve worn any for at least 8 years.

I’m mid 40’s and haven’t been able to wear heels for the last ten years due to having broken both my big toes and, I assume, having arthritis in them.

Thankfully they seem to have pretty much gone out of fashion anyway.

You don’t get many heels with wide toe box and laces to stop your feet sliding fowward and getting even more squashed so do don’t bother trying

i do notice that if I wear proper flat shoes at gigs I don’t get back ache which even a small heel induces

I don't wear them. I seem to live in walking boots, sandals or trainers. I don't mind a boot with a small heel. I keep the odd pair though for some occasion that involves sitting down a lot where they might come in useful.

Absolutely unbearable. I have some wedges which are slightly less awful, and I can tolerate those for a few hours, but rarely need to as I don’t often dress smart.

I used to find them comfortable. Stopped wearing when they became unfashionable and wouldn’t bother wearing now.

Extremely uncomfortable, rarely wore them anyway and I think I last did at a wedding about 7 years ago.
Now they're not trendy I don't even own any.

Depends entirely on the shoes. My feet swell so strappy/tight ones are not a choice I would make. Heeled boots or non strappy heeled shoes, fine. I danced for years so seem to have the foot equivalent of asbestos hands.

Sacked then off at least 10 years ago. Wear a pair v occasionally for a wedding or similar and always take them off soon as possible

I can't wear them any more, because I have arthritis in my right foot. I used to though (and probably caused the arthritis by doing so!)

Evil invention.

Thankfully I work somewhere that steeltoecaps are more commen than heals, and married someone only a fraction taller than me.

Flats and boots for the win!

Agony. I'm so jealous of anyone that doesn't find them painful and can wear them for hours, as I'd love to be able to!

I bought a pair of highish block heeled sandals to wear for a wedding. I managed most of the afternoon and evening - although a good proportion of that was sitting down. I was relieved to change into my (smart) trainers later on in the evening. I did notice that virtually all the 'youngsters' (30's) were wearing flat sandals/trainers even at the main wedding event. I'm in my 60's. Got another Summer wedding next year - same family. I will be taking my lead from the 'youngsters'.

Absolutely unwearable.

I used to be on my feet all day (teacher) and did it in heels with no problem. Good quality shoes, that we VERY supportive and didn't rely totally on balancing on the ball of my foot.

Can't wear them anymore though. The killer was one very hot summer when I had uncomfortable feet but persisted in my heels. Ended up with the beginnings of bunions.

I'm older now and just don't do heels anymore. I think they're ageing these days anyway, because they're less fashionable now.

Very, and I’ve got to wear some in a couple of weeks. I’m buying some “party feet” cushions for them (they’re not even very high) and carrying some flip flops in my bag for emergencies 🤦‍♀️ I just couldn’t find any flat sandals smart enough to go with my outfit.

I dont think anyone can deny they make your legs look great but only time I wear them is an event with lots of sitting. I have no idea how women wear them for dancing or walking - Im envious but I do have feet issues.

I had one pair of 1- inch heels from Miss Selfridge that were comfortable all evening in 1987-1990. I’ve had a few pairs of similar height I could last a hour or so in. But since then my feet have deteriorated and I can’t wear any, ever - can’t even make it down the stairs in them. Luckily I wear scrubs and trainers for work. So lucky that I don’t live in the 50s /60s when ‘woman in the office’ meant ‘heels’.

I wear heels all the time when I'm outside of the house. I find them really comfortable.

There is absolutely no way I would/could wear a flat shoe.

Do you mean flat shoes are painful @SaraHoliday? I can imagine some foot types can’t do flat shoes the way I can’t do heels.

I don’t wear them often now but I find thicker heels comfier than stiletto style. I used to get really painful balls of my feet but I saw a “trick” to tape together 3rd and 4th toes it’s no where near as bad. Obviously that only work if the shoes cover the toes!

when I worse heels daily for work they weren’t uncomfortable in the slightest I could even run for the bus in them and not give it a second thought.
