What is the point in relationships/marriage. They suck all of the fucking life out of you.

Just that, context is too outing.

@AprilMizzel Yes, marriage would protect some people, but it's a massive gamble for anyone who owns property in their own right, has/is due and inheritance, has a large amount of savings or where there is a big difference in salary/income. I think it's criminal that someone can get their hands on these when in my opinion they should have no right to it. Especially if it would diddle a child from a previous relationship out of their inheritance.

A family member recently didn't get an inheritance from a blood relative, because it went to the step mother who survived her husband, but who had absolutely nothing to do with the relative who had died. All because of marriage!

Just marry someone you really really like

Perhaps you are with the wrong person, or if you always find this, perhaps some therapy could help? Did your parents have a happy marriage?

My marriage is happy and gives me a lot of energy. Since I met my husband 20 years ago I have barely cried once. I used to cry almost every day when I was single living on my own. But we are just pretty compatible, like doing the same things, have stuff to talk about, like each other’s friends & families and have similar values. Neither of us is a “my way or the highway” type person with a need to be dominant, right or in control.

I wouldn’t fancy a relationship with someone like that..,

Aw, I bet OP is so gratified to see all the smug posters telling her that her relationship is shit while crowing about how theirs is super lovely smashing great. So kind.

OP, how can we help you - do you need support, signposting, information just to vent?

I completely disagree with you.

If the OP had started a thread with her second post (and more so if she started the thread in 'Relationships') she would have got different answers with help and advice.
But she didn't.
This is a discussion forum, and people will reply to the thread title and the opening post. All daft generalisations will be challenged. That's not posters being smug, that is posters objecting to people spouting rubbish as if it were a fact.

With the right person, everything falls into place and it can be amazing on every level.

Are you married? What is your financial position?
