I first heard of him in Reilly: Ace of Spies and loved The Dish and The Hunt for Red October

Sad news.

Oh, he was a wonderful actor. So many great performances. I read his memoir recently and he talked about being in remission from cancer. He will be missed.

Really sad
He was fantastic in peaky blinders

HoldingOntoMySanity · Yesterday 07:17

I was a very big fan of his. Gorgeous looking and had a lovely manner about him.

Very sad about this, I'd forgotten about The Dish.

It is sad news. Apparently he was still cancer-free and his death was sudden and unexpected.

He acted in a couple of films earlier this year, which are not due for release until next year.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · Yesterday 07:35

Literally just finished watching him in that new drama on Apple - “Apples don’t fall” with Annette Bening. It was bloody brilliant and he was great in it.

Very sad about this, I'd forgotten about The Dish.

How could you forget The Dish and the world's most excruciating version of The House of the Rising Sun??

I first saw him in Kane and Abel!

Mumteedum · Yesterday 08:14

It's very sad as he was cancer free and this was apparently sudden. I loved his work and his Instagram. His friendship with Jeff Goldblum was very sweet but mainly I loved his videos with his pigs and animals. He loved his country and a simple life it seems, despite still working. He was incredibly attractive even in his seventies and I enjoyed The Twelve very recently.

Glad his family were with him.

I need to watch it again!

shutthefrontdooor · Yesterday 08:24

Hi social media videos of life on his farm and his absolute joy at being surrounded by animals was just magnificent. He seemed such a peaceful man, content to be at home looking after pigs and chickens.

What a loss

StormGazing · Yesterday 08:30

Very sad to hear this 😢
what’s going on with deaths at the moment, one every day nearly at the moment
