@OneAmberFinch That is not true with regards to Jo Cox. She was very vocal about the issues she supported e.g. refugees. An article she wrote about refugees is used in schools to teach English Language GCSE, so she was hardly an unrecognised, random victim. There are many people who would have hated her for the views she held.
Nigel Farage refused the security offered by the government as he did not want a record of his dodgy meetings/dealing. There is no reason he should have a better security than the leaders of other parties. Just because he is viler than the others doesn’t mean more of taxpayers’ money should be spent on him.
Modifying his views would probably make him less hated so he should try that instead.

So he should moderate his views and say that we should have open borders and bend the knee to the EU, LOL, you are joking arn"t you?

Have you not seen the visceral hatred for Starmer on MN alone? Lammy(whom mumsnetters have said has a face asking to be punched for example)?

Farage makes out he is the only MP vulnerable to violence. He really is not.

Fair points, but most reasonable people just don"t want these clowns in positions of power (not really clear what the problem with DL is?) they don"t wish them any harm.

Not sure what you are specifically referring to? KS consistently abused the British people, calling them racist, far right etc for daring to have a point of view opposite to his, he has fucked off though so I suppose you want Nigel to do the same?

Most people who are opposed to Reform feel exactly the same way about Farage and co. Don't want them anywhere near power but don't wish them actual physical harm.

You are delusional. And yes I would love that. It seems many others would too.

It would be delicious if he lost to Binface.

Sure, but it would mean a lot of people basically voting for no political voice for themselves and their families, that would be very strange indeed, do you have any interviews with people in Clacton on their plans to vote for a bin/stand up comedian? I suppose the Ukraine leader used to do stand up and he has become a global hero, maybe the same could happen to the Bin Man?

They don’t have a political voice now. Farage participated in 32% voting sessions in Parliament. I suppose he has been too busy “turning the boats”

Count Binface is a highly intelligent Oxford graduate, who has more good policies on his agenda than Farage. E.g. would build at least one affordable house, supports rejoining EU.

Their "voice" is a Reform government, or at least majority coalition party, how many times he turns up in Clacton isn"t important, the people there get that though although you don"t seem to?

There is no Reform government or Reform coalition government.
Farage has been elected to represent his constituency NOW. Not in future. He is being paid to sit and vote in Parliament just like other opposition MPs.
If he doesn’t want to do this till never there is Reform government, he should not be standing in elections.
Instead, he should remain an unpaid party activist. He is stealing money from his constituents by not doing what he was elected to do.

Why don"t you run against him as an independent on a promise to do exactly what an MP should do?

Emilesgran · 14/07/2026 22:52

juldan · 14/07/2026 21:08

WHERE DID I SAY HE DESERVED TO BE MURDERED???

Yes, the threat was assessed and he was offered the same level of security as Badenoch. So not sure why you have a problem with this.

You didn’t just say that though so don’t act all disingenuous. You specifically blamed him for supposedly putting himself at risk and gave that as a reason why he shouldn’t get security based on the actual level of threat he’s seen to be under. That’s victim claiming.

And anyway, the reason Kemi Badenoch gets a lower level of security than Keir Starmer is not because she’s less important nor because she’s said some things herself that may have annoyed someone, but because she is judged to be at lower risk than him.

If someone murdered a Tory Party member and she was felt to be at similar risk, but Starmer was not, then she’d get the higher level of protection.

Even if it was only because she’d said something you found vile.

No, I will instead keep voting for people who take their constituents seriously and do the job they have been elected to do, instead of taking their constituents’ money left, right and centre for doing nothing.

Huh? I stated clearly that he got his security offer based on risk assessment and it was assessed as = to Badenoch.
He got the same security offer as her.
He rejected it and chose unarmed private security instead. So obviously he did not feel that he was at serious risk.
If he was deemed to be a higher risk than Badenoch, he would have been offered higher security.
Just because some posters believe Farage should get better security due to his vile behaviour, does not mean that the risk is there.

Was this assessment before Widdecombe was murdered or after? You didn’t link to anything that tells us this and I don’t follow Farage nearly as obsessively as you seem to.

I’m not sure how many MPs they have, not enough for a coalition although I could be mistaken.

You could count them on your fingers and still pick your nose on both sides at once with the ones spare.

notwhingingjuststatingfacts · 15/07/2026 02:26

Who paid for the helicopter that brought him here last week to pay “tribute” make a speech attempting to make the whole thing about him?

He is a grifter who is constantly trying to twist the facts to suit his own narrative. The way he and other reform members have used Ann’s murder to shift focus off his antics is disgraceful. They have repeatedly twisted the statements the police have made to undermine them. It’s not ok. The police are far from perfect but in situations like this undermining them for your own political agenda is just revolting.

@Emilesgran
No information has been released that the murder of Widdecombe was linked to Farrage or that he was the designated target of the murderer and Widdecombe was killed by mistake. The suspect has been arrested so if anything, Farage is safer now than before.
Police are not going to discuss the details of the ongoing investigation but they would have done the risk assessment at early stages to ensure that there is no risk to other politicians or general public. So you can rest assured that your beloved Nigel is not under threat as he has not been offered supper security.

I have no idea what you mean by this comment. Security for Farage will have been risk-assessed. It's not good enough for him though so he's complained. He does this kind of thing constantly, it's part of his grift. If he were so bothered he'd just supplement what was provided and deal with it via the proper channels.
