Buying Biscuits instead of chocolate

Really cheesed off with the price of chocolate, so I thought I’d buy biscuits instead.

viscount. What a disappointment.
club. The same

all my favourite lunchtime favourites are disappointing

What’s a really good snack biscuit with a good coating of chocolate?

You need to check it's actual chocolate these days and not just chocolate flavouring. I find Lidl and aldi ones are often better than branded ones. Or go completely the other way and buy M&S.

Tworedgeraniums · 08/07/2026 17:27

@RudolphTheReindeer thanks i’ll pop out tomorrow and have a look. I am very partial to M&S chocolate biscuits though.

Fox's Rounds

wonderingwhatsnext · 08/07/2026 17:31

Another vote for fox's rounds. Too delicious but not individually wrapped of you're thinking of putting them in a lunch box.

M & S chocolate coated custard creams are the only chocolate biscuits you’ll ever need

Can confirm these are incredible 😲

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 08/07/2026 17:37

Oh I also didn’t know that chocolate covered custard creams existed but now I require them!

Kitkats still taste like kitkats. Cocoa has got expensive so all chocolate covered biscuits will either be expensive or disappointingly “chocolate flavoured covering”. It is helping my diet that so much treat foods now tastes rubbish. I fear the chocolate covered custard creams might be the undoing of my campaign to get back into some old summer clothes that are a tiny bit too small.

Chesspitofbacteria · 08/07/2026 17:46

The M&S chocolate custard creams are ace but there aren't many in what looks like a big packet. Probably just as well - they are very moreish.

I love custard creams, and I love chocolate, I thought I would love these but I do not!

My go to is a bourbon biscuit.

ExcellentCat · 08/07/2026 17:51

Cadburys rounded are pretty good & the chocolate is still nice unlike all other Cadbury chocolate. Otherwise Lidl & Aldi all the way for chocolate

To get satisfaction you need very good biscuits. Those named are very poor biscuits. And very good biscuits will be extortionate in price.

Lidl also do chocolate coated bourbon biscuits. Dangerous stuff!

Tworedgeraniums · 08/07/2026 17:58

Thank you. Definitely having an outing tomorrow morning to find something new for my lunchtime biscuit.

just having a Cadbury shortcake which still seem similar although there’s only two in the packet and I’m sure there used to be three.

Borders dark chocolate ginger biscuits bars. I also like a Gold bar, although not technically chocolate.

Chocolatecustardcreamsrule · 08/07/2026 18:01

My username says it all! M and s are the best but the Lidl dupes are still delicious!

And they go off quickly so you have to eat them all in one go!

Them lesbian biscuits are nice

ThirdStorm · 08/07/2026 18:43

Lidl’s M&S dupe of the chocolate coated bourbons and custard creams are epic. My favourites are fox’s half coated chocolate cookies.

M&S Dutch shortcake mmmmm

tarheelbaby · 08/07/2026 19:31

Best biscuits (although I resist most of the time) IME are Sainsbury's shortbread w/Belgian chocolate - these are in the bakery aisle in a paper bag.

tinyspiny · 08/07/2026 19:49

Bahlsen biscuits are nice
