Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot. Neither cat has joined me this morning - boy's in the kitchen and girl has gone back to bed with dd2.

I'm up earlier than usual for a weekend as dd1's train is almost here after she attended a gig in Cardiff last night - we're off to one in Halifax tonight & she wants to queue 🙄. At least the weather's nice for it!

Dd2 was offered a ticket as we won a pair as well as having bought ours but said no - she's not really into the artist so fair enough. She's in the midst of clearing out her GCSE work & deciding which bits might be useful for A Level History, so she'll continue that.

While we queue, I'm going to send a fit note to work for the coming week - not sure how to phrase the email yet but I'm feeling rather discriminated against at the moment & cannot be doing with the added stress they're causing!

No idea what we're eating - probably meal deals or something vastly overpriced & not worth it 🙄. Hopefully there are water stations!

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam. Been a while since I shared in with the thread but I do read them regularly on weekends. Hope the day (and the queuing!) goes well today.

I’m travelling with work this weekend and utterly exhausted. Was out until almost 2am last night as I couldn’t really avoid some colleagues I only see once a year, and then the hotel only had 7:30am breakfast spots left. They operate some kind of timed reserved breakfast - I shall advise them not to book us into this again.

I’m leaving my hotel soon as I have a flight at midday, looking forward to a long nap this afternoon when I arrive. Will clear some admin during the trip, hopefully…

We are then working 6pm to midnight, but hopefully it becomes a later start as the predictions say 35 degrees until 8pm, and we’re outdoors 😳

Iamnotaloggrip · 20/06/2026 08:00

Morning @lucysmam

I’m on my second coffee after DS/ hayfever woke me at 7. Park run this morning, probably with one of the kids but not sure which one yet. Need to work with DD on her piano as she’s got her exam in a few weeks then hopefully tennis this afternoon while she plays football. Not sure what DS will do. Also not sure what’s for tea as I was away for part of the week and meal planning went out of the window!

Is your gig at the Piece Hall? Gorgeous venue. I’ve been during the day but I really need to see some music there at some point.

lucysmam · 20/06/2026 08:02

@Iamnotaloggrip yes, it is! I'm really looking forward to it - I've never been to the Piece Hall but have seen the artist several times.

Enjoying a coffee in bed with the dog! No exciting plans for today, cleaning and tidying the house but I will feel better when that is done! Hope you all have a good day

PermanentTemporary · 20/06/2026 08:06

Good morning all. I’m running a bath and will have my second coffee while luxuriating in that. A sad week as one of our cats was run over on Thursday so it seems very quiet, he was the loudest of them. We were out last night though and will be out again at the opera tonight. Omelettes for lunch maybe, something light.

mamaduckbone · 20/06/2026 08:08

Good morning all. I was up at 4.30 this morning to take ds1 and his gf to the airport so the plan is to be as productive as possible this morning before the inevitable crash this afternoon!

I've been for a run, and plan to have a bit of a house blitz and spend a couple of hours on the garden - it’s my first properly free Saturday in ages so looking forward to getting on top of life a bit. Might go to the garden centre and / or holiday clothes shopping this afternoon but that depends on how hard the crash hits.

Have a good Saturday everyone - enjoy the gig tonight @lucysmam.

Iamnotaloggrip · 20/06/2026 08:09

@lucysmam Friends who’ve been to gigs there say it’s amazing. Enjoy!

lucysmam · 20/06/2026 08:10

Aw @PermanentTemporary I'm so sorry about your boy 💐.

Morning
Waking up in a premier inn in lincoln after seeing Madness and The Beat at the castle last night.
Wondering if I dare put the kettle on and risk waking the teenager next to me.
Need to go in search of breakfast at some stage and guide said teenager through the city without being led into expensive shops and parting with cash!

Enjoy the gig @lucysmam

So sorry about your boy @PermanentTemporary

lucysmam · 20/06/2026 08:37

🤣 @Rowgtfc72 mine has just informed me she had to pay for her own trains and food in Cardiff yesterday...I think that's a hint that I'm paying today!

Good Morning. I have had a bit of a lie in as we went to a concert last night (Lily Allen, she was fab!).

i’m heading to the park soon to do week 8, run 1 of couch to 5k. Then home for a shower and sort some washing out then we are going to the cinema to watch the new Toy Story movie. We’ll have a takeaway for tea tonight then it’s an early night as we have to be at 5am tomorrow as we have booked to go out door swimming at 6am!

Have a lovely day everyone

Morning all. DP and I still in bed with a coffee. Will have some breakfast soon and then I want to get out for a run at some point this morning.

This afternoon there is a carnival/fair happening nearby so we’ll head down there to look round and grab a few drinks. It all finishes by 6pm so we’ll be home for dinner and probably will pick up something very easy from the shop on the way back.

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

DilemmaDelilah · 20/06/2026 09:31

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

I was up fairly early this morning as there were things to do - not that there isn't time to do them later, just that I like to get them out of the way.

So I've had my breakfast, tried on a dress I got from Vinted which, sadly, doesn't suit me and will have to go back onto Vinted.
Changed my Vinted settings to holiday mode, as I won't have time to pack and send anything before we go away on Monday
Hung up/put away my clean laundry
Put a wash on
Confirmed garden watering dates etc. with my lovely neighbour (we are doing his while he's away)
Checked and re-packed my hotel suitcase - it had too much stuff in it so I took that out (and hung it back up)
Had the obligatory 'discussion' with Mr Dilemma as to the location of the trousers I'm wearing on Monday - I was totally in the wrong and have apologised
Checked my bag with the 'bits' in it.... Medication, Sun screen, tablet, charging leads, neck pillow etc etc. Things I'm going to need without wanting to unpack my suitcase.
Taken the laundry basket out of the room that far-away daughter will be sleeping in when she comes to stay while we're away
Tidied said bedroom

That's about it so far! Mr Dilemma will hoover far-away daughter's bedroom later. I will put another wash on and deal with the stuff that's already in the wash.

This evening we are having corned beef, salad and baked potatoes. I particularly like that combination but don't have it often - so it is a treat.... simple things...

I had a couple of packages delivered by Evri on Thursday - they are pretty good here - and the delivery driver rang the doorbell to say he really appreciated the flapjacks and water we leave out for our post people/delivery drivers and to ask if they were home made. They are... Mr Dilemma started making them in my place when I was too ill to do it and he does a very good job. Anyway - the driver said we could expect something for us to be left in the box where we leave the flapjacks on Saturday. Which is today. What a treat! I'm hoping for something home made from his country. He sounded Eastern European to me, but I'm not great with accents. So I'm looking forward to that.

MrsClattenburg · 20/06/2026 09:34

Morning all!

I'm on my second coffee, I slept in until 8.30 this morning (unheard of!) I must have been catching up from a 5am PT session yesterday. Lovely, but it's thrown me out for today!

I'll be off to the gym in an hour then some local shopping before I can hopefully sit in the sun in the garden this afternoon. We're out for drinks this evening, I've been limiting myself to just one boozy night a week so looking forward to that first cold prosecco!

DH and DS1 both at work all day today, DS2 still on the hunt for a job but still no luck there so he'll be kicking around the house with me today before he's out tonight and then at Parklife in Manchester tomorrow...

Good morning all, I went to elite hyrox yesterday and went out out after so I was very tired this morning. I’ve been on a run with the dog and made us all japanese fluffy pancakes for breakfast.

Its our sons birthday party this afternoon, its laser tag and a gaming place, so it will be neon and strobe lighting hell.

Its been a very lazy first week of the school holidays for us, but next week both the kids have a dance day camp for the week so we need to make sure today that they have everything for it, so we have time to buy anything we’ve forgotten about.

Have a nice saturday

Kim82 · 20/06/2026 09:56

Good morning everyone. I’m currently in Nottingham in dd21’s flat with dd18 and dd11, we travelled up last night and got here around 9.30pm. We’re all just chilling on the sofa for now having breakfast.

I’m not sure what the whole plan is for the day but we’re booked in to the cat cafe at 12 where we will have lunch and see where the afternoon takes us. It’s just nice to spend time with dd21 tbh.

We’re travelling home after tea tonight and should get home around 9pm, I’ll then have a well deserved glass of wine and go to bed early ish ready for another busy day tomorrow.

ChipshopPickledEgg · 20/06/2026 10:06

Currently at dance with my DD.
Have to go into the local city later for a couple of appointments.
Definitely going to need a coffee pit stop.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 20/06/2026 10:07

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone - just lost another week! Been off work but sadly need to go back today - wish I’d booked it off now as I have tomorrow off. Was lovely here in Cornwall first thing but now clouding over. I’ve been awake since 6.15 when DH got up. Made a cuppa to take back to bed & whilst it was brewing I got everything ready for work, did a few bits in the kitchen & added items to my shopping list. I will do a meal plan in a min. The whole house needs blitzing. DH finishes at 1 so he can clean the bathroom. He wants to go on a bike ride if it stays dry. Finally got up around 9 & have had brekkie of choc malted wheaties. 2nd smaller cuppa on the way. I need to feed the bunnies & let 2 of them out. Dishwasher needs doing, there’s a basket of clean laundry to take upstairs & another full basket already there to be put away. The load I’ve just done is in the tumble dryer. Couple of bras to soak. No big food shop today but we’re nearly out of milk so I’ll pick up some after my shift. DD17 hasn’t emerged yet. I don’t know what her plans are. Easy tea of scampi, chips & peas. I picked up a jar of tartare sauce the other day so will enjoy dipping. Probably watch a film tonight. Have a great day all ❤️

Love the Piece Hall - such wonderful memories of going into all the little independent shops with my dear Grandma when I was little. Have a great night @lucysmam Who are you seeing?

Tiddlywinks63 · 20/06/2026 11:04

Good morning, it’s cloudy and muggy here and I’m not looking forward to the next week’s weather 🫣
I was out walking the dogs early and have pootled around tidying and cleaning since we got back.
The washing is on the line but I’m not convinced it’s going to dry quickly, both dogs are snoozing and there’s fish and chips for dinner.

ShipshapeShore · 20/06/2026 11:08

Relatively slow day. General cleaning this morning then church later for a first Holy Communion which will be nice. Need to shop for Father's Day still, oops. Then DD has decided she wants to go to Primark this evening for new sheets. I need a new job, these teens and tweens are very expensive always after something 😁.
I just googled elite Hyrox @Simonjt - that is seriously impressive. Congrats on your achievements!
Have a lovely time later @lucysmam you deserve it 💐.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 20/06/2026 11:08

@PermanentTemporary so sorry for the loss of your boy 😢

I was watching it, I do do hyrox, but I am not elite, although it was very tempting not to admit that. A friend who is an absolute machine came second in the elite doubles.
