Wealthy banker with connections to royalty is arrested in hunt for notorious 'Putney Pusher' | Daily Mail Online

I vividly remember this case which still haunts me and cannot believe it was ten years ago. Finally someone has been arrested who appears to be an ex army wealthy man.

I hope he is charged - so arrogant.

most traces of them online have been scrubbed.

Well there is the "right to be forgotten", which Google (other search engines are available) tries to adhere to.

Also if you only use a UK based ISP, you will only see what the UK will permit. Remember: you don't know what you don't know ...

BettyyB00 · 16/06/2026 12:52

Freemantle, this guy, the woman who ran over and killed Harry Dunn , and even the woman (senior judge?) whose dog attacked and killed the sealion in Hammersmith - all wealthy / powerful with connections. None so far been found guilty / served any time. Tis the world we live in. Money works. Grim.

Eta - and these are just some of the cases we know about. Imagine what we don't know about.

Also remember - it's easy (for now) to change your ISP, all the better.

The thing is it’s going to be a very difficult case to prove if he goes no-comment or completely denies any involvement - I have no idea where I was on x date ten years ago, and I expect it would be almost
impossible to prove unless I was on holiday or a meeting at work.

I’m not sure being in the same city and looking vaguely similar is going to cut it evidentially. If the police had been able to
use mobile phone signals they’d have done it already, and he’d have been charged.

I did think, if it's because someone has come forward now, the obvious denial for a hypothetically guilty person is that I know I've never pushed anyone into a road but of course I cant prove what I was doing on a random day 9 years ago.

Does anyone know if gait analysis can work when there's this sort of gap? I know people's walking and presumably running styles can change with time.

Pretty likely it'll be one of men they questioned at the time. Only now it sounds likely there's more evidence to go on.

Gait analysis would be easy if it was walking I guess as we all walk everywhere but running is different, how do you compel someone to run to compare? And as you say, gaits change - training, injury, age, new trainers!

I guess they would have to find a video of that person running at the same time
the offence took place.

I regularly drive in narrow lanes and some people simply won't reverse even when they have literally just passed a passing place. My technique is to act like I can barely drive, actively looking down to the gear stick to find reverse, then reversing extremely slowly, getting the angle wrong so I have to pull forward to straighten up and try again. It drives them nuts whilst giving me great pleasure! 😆

Beautiful, I love your style.

Good point you'd have to compel me pretty hard to run and I know for a fact I've never pushed anyone into a road.

I suppose if a person knew they'd bust their ankle falling down the stairs in the interim, gained or lost 2 stone or some other complication, they'd be more willing to do it!

How long does google maps (or similar) store tracking data?

Backedoffhackedoff · 16/06/2026 13:32

Wow bad day for the banker

LizzieSiddal · 16/06/2026 13:36

What a surprise Hmm

You only need to look at Andrew Mountbatten to see what the rich can get away with.

I suppose it was always a decent bet he was going to have some coke..

SurreyMumOfOne · 16/06/2026 13:41

I know it’s from 10 years ago, but even so, I think the CCTV is actually pretty crap. And it always amazes me how poor it is. I’ve no doubt his partner, nearest and dearest would have known it’s him, but I would guess it’s not clear enough for a jury to be able to conclude it’s him “beyond reasonable doubt” on that alone?

BettyyB00 · 16/06/2026 13:42

The loser is a dad, poor kids. Probably several kids across at least 2 women. But I digress.

Like what? Live in nice houses, do coke and smoke a joint? Loads of people are like that, military or otherwise.

pushing someone into the road.. that’s nothing to with ones occupation, surely more to do with being a closet psychopath.

I know several including family members and they are nothing like this.
Horrific men come from all walks of life.

Prince Philip really did have interesting cousins, didn’t he?

Its not his fault he’s related to this guy.

And if you really want interesting then read up on his mothers work during WW2.

Not at all, in fact quite the opposite.

I want to know where in London I can buy a mansion for £1.4m!

Realistically there'd have to be more than that footage for them to charge, if they do.

I got my smartphone in 2014 and mine is showing back to 2015 or so
