Wealthy banker with connections to royalty is arrested in hunt for notorious 'Putney Pusher' | Daily Mail Online

I vividly remember this case which still haunts me and cannot believe it was ten years ago. Finally someone has been arrested who appears to be an ex army wealthy man.

I hope he is charged - so arrogant.

Ah, the handmaidens of the patriarchy have arrived, didn’t take long. Trying to spread doubt and smear the victim already.

No the CCTV does NOT show that. She was walking in a straight line and he veered over and shoved her.

You're either blind or biased.

There's no need for such rudeness. I am not a "hand maiden of the patriarchy" nor am I blind or biased. I watched the footage several times and it looked to me as though she stepped towards him. I re-watched when posters said she didn't - I think one of her feet briefly tangled with one of his as she loses her balance.

Good point @Namechangingregularly He probably still jogged every morning.

They could probably have got him just by going back to the same place at the same time the next day.

I’m amazed he wasn’t identified earlier

FFS! Can people please stop sharing google search terms and broad hints!

MNHQ will, quite rightly, pull the thread if this continues.

This is great. I'm glad his ex girlfriend / wife / friend went to the police to grass him up.

It was a miracle the woman wasnt killed, and he did it so casually. Makes you wonder what else he's done that wasn't caught on CCTV and blasted all over national media.

When you put it like that, it’s terrifying. Is it a fact that it is someone who knows him and is disgruntled with him who recently went to the police, or is that just speculation, do you know?
@TheCheeseTax - that seems so strange to me, that people were so sure at the time and yet didn’t come forward. Why wouldn’t they, he can’t have had something on all of them? Because he’s associated with Royals? It just seems so strange to me.
That bus driver is my new hero.

They will, but let’s be honest that’s the only thing anyone is interested in from the thread anyway

She was so lucky she didn't get run over.

@roses2
Glad the prat got caught
But am willing to bet he arrogantly thinks his money will make it all go away
Might even claim he has an "ism".

Most autistic people wouldn't do that so don't post that.

Wonderlandpeony · 15/06/2026 19:06

On the news tonight it looked as though there was plenty of room for him to pass by. So possibly a deliberate act to harm, especially straight into the path of a bus.

SomeGarlic · 15/06/2026 19:07

Imisscoffee2021 · 15/06/2026 17:22

I remember this, lived in London at the time and I knew immediately it was a wealthy man as he wouldn't be jogging in that postcode otherwise, clearly runs from his door and back so very well off and extremely entitled so absolutely does not surprise me. I'm very glad if it is him, that they've got him. And that he does jail time not some community pay back bollocks.

I lived in an area full of these types, they're entitled arseholes behind the wheel of a car, on a bike and jogging, doesn't matter where, their personal best and their planned route is sacred and as you see they'll literally push someone out the way.

Edited

That's the thing - she wasn't in his way. He took a sideways step to shove her, and shove her hard. It was fully intentional.

TeethAreImportant · 15/06/2026 19:08

50sandFabulous · 15/06/2026 15:22

See how he passes a man moments before and doesn't push him? This was such a weird thing to do. I mean, why??

Because there's always the possibility that another man could turn around and punch his lights out. He's not going to take that risk when he can shove a much smaller woman who is far less likely to retaliate. Plus a lot of men just really don't like women very much. So it doesn't matter which woman who hurt, as long as you're hurting a woman.

Attempted GBH? Really? Minimising what he did surely.

Perhaps the CPS feel there’s more chance of guilty of the attempted GBH than being found guilty of attempted murder.

That pavement is much wider in real life than it looks in the footage.

In any case he could have easily swerved to his left.

Well he’s obviously been protected by his partner and mates because you get a reasonably clear picture of him.

Yet he is the 4th person to be arrested so he must look like other people too

goodness me. What a coincidence that there’s two men with the same job title, same type of business, exactly the same age, same army background , same royal connection who both appear to have potentially been involved in a violent crime or incident against a woman. Gosh. I mean they even look a bit similar, what are the chances?

Edited

I think it's entirely possible that there are AT LEAST two bankers out there with Army backgrounds who don't feel it necessary to treat women with respect on the roads!

Along with all the other men (and women) who treat people badly on the roads who they perceive to be weaker than them (women will do it from the comfort safety of their SUVs).

hellofrommyothername · 15/06/2026 19:36

Is his name likely to be shared if/when he’s charged, does anyone know?

But once you add in the ‘related to English and European royalty’ detail the odds of there being two become rather less.

It's the connection to British and European royalty that the press have reported that narrows down the field a bit

shuggles · 15/06/2026 19:53

He is not a wealthy banker.

He is a wealthy wanker.

Namechangee11 · 15/06/2026 19:57

I didn't know until today that 15 mins after he did it, he ran back up the road on the other side right passed her!!! I hope they've got him but it will only be attempted GBH or something surely? It was an horrific thing to do and thank goodness the bus driver had his wits about him.

SomeGarlic · 15/06/2026 19:57

They can be that mad, though. There was an American case a couple of years ago (?) at a mall with CCTV. Another male jogger. Just punched a bloke in the face for no reason. The victim fell, landed on his head and died. Plenty of witnesses said there'd been no interaction at all between the two men before that.

Agree that a lot of men just hate women in general, though, and we're an easier target.

Remember the recent one in Dublin? Just casually stabbed a girl walking past. I have no idea whether there've always been crazy murderers walking/jogging around doing this to random strangers, or if it's new.

I've just watched it again and I really can't see why you would think she takes a step towards him. She is clearly walking in a straight line.

Yep me too - and the video shows the whole thing slowed down, she doesn't step towards him at all.

The bus driver deserves a mention here.
If he hadn’t braked in time that poor woman would not be here. Apparently he’s still drives his bus over that bridge everyday!

Let’s hope they’ve got the right man and he spends a very long time in prison. Attempted GBH can carry a sentence of Life in prison.

Agreed!

I see him deliberately lunging to his right, towards her, and striking her. He knew what he was doing, he knew there was a bus just behind, as well. Entitled misogynist.
