Accidentally flashed my trainer on Teams

Please tell me your embarrassing stories so I can feel better. I’ve just started a job with a prestigious company based in Canary Wharf, the job of my dreams.

it’s day 4 of my training which is held over Teams. We finish at 4. I decided to change into my swimsuit during the last 15 minutes so I could go straight to the pool, and didn’t switch my camera off.

next thing I knew, the trainer was urgently whispering YOUR CAMERA IS ON, C!

I am dying of mortification because ten other delegates have seen my naked torso.

I do online Zumba in my bathroom. I'd put my phone in a slightly different position than normal. As I approached the loo, starting to pull my leggings down I thankfully realised I would be in shot!!!

I dread to think what the other job candidates were like.

This must be near the top of the embarrassing moments chart list !

If it's the job of your dreams with a presitgious company, why weren't you focusing on the meeting?

I don't get it. If I was so disengaged that I was getting changed to go swimming during a work meeting I'd know I had lost all commitment to that job, whether or not anyone saw me.

Mm, getting changed in the middle of a meeting doesn't scream professional tbh. On day 4 of a new job no less.

Someone whos taking the piss a bit and should have continued to focus on the meeting and waited to get changed til it ended 👌

If i had a new member of staff do this it would be an immediate red flag to me that they were going to be a bit of a pisstaker to be honest. Not a good early impression to give

The trainer took it a lot less seriously than most people here. I have the background blurred, so I wasn’t visible when I actually removed my clothes (which incidentally took less than thirty seconds) it was only when I sat down with my bikini top on that I could be seen.

i can still listen whilst I changed, so I don’t think I’ll be sacked

You should take your new job more seriously in future and not get changed for your hobby in work time… on a call!!!

I don't get this at all. You said yourself it took less than 30 seconds to get changed into your swimming stuff so why on earth could you not just wait till the meeting ended to get changed? I am suprised your trainer was understanding tbh, I'm very laid back but getting naked on a call and changing into a bikini on the 4th day of a new job and while actively in a meeting and on camera is pretty bad by anyone's standards. I also don't get how if you decided to do this why you wouldn't have checked and then triple checked your camera wasn't on - on a teams call you see your own image when the camera is on so how exactly did you not realise?? Rubbish.

I don’t understand how you managed to do this without double checking. In future close the laptop. I would be wary in probation this won’t go down well. If you haven’t I think you need to explain to the trainer you mistake asap.
