Accidentally flashed my trainer on Teams

Please tell me your embarrassing stories so I can feel better. I’ve just started a job with a prestigious company based in Canary Wharf, the job of my dreams.

it’s day 4 of my training which is held over Teams. We finish at 4. I decided to change into my swimsuit during the last 15 minutes so I could go straight to the pool, and didn’t switch my camera off.

next thing I knew, the trainer was urgently whispering YOUR CAMERA IS ON, C!

I am dying of mortification because ten other delegates have seen my naked torso.

Oh dear OP how embarrassing. But absolutely nothing on your character or work ethic, and loads will have done sillier things than this on a call before.

If I was your trainer or colleague I would find this hilarious and think ‘at least she is sporty’. It’s a story to tell at your retirement party.

There’s really no genuine-seeming way to ask for flashing/ naked stories is there.
Some men people just don’t seem to understand that women don’t normally spend their time discussing instances where they accidentally got naked in front of people. Same as they don’t have random pillow fights in their underwear.

They’re probably more concerned that you decided your time was more important than theirs. Imagine doing your job, trying to train people up and then they clock out early doing other things. You wouldn’t start doing other unrelated things in a meeting room. It’s really disrespectful behaviour.

If I was training someone and they started getting changed while I was trying to tell them something I’d be ending their probation. (If this was a real situation).

In the (highly) unlikely event that this happened, I would think you were an absolute muppet and lose all respect for you. You would need to be an impeccable employee going forward to wipe this from your colleagues' minds.

I don’t get how this can happen because you can see yourself on the screen! Even when there are hundreds of delegates you can check.

Why was swimming so urgent that you couldn't wait until finished work to undertake the 30-second task of changing into a swimsuit?

I searched your name OP and you post regularly, so I assume this is genuine.

Honestly, the embarrassment is the least of your worries. If I was your trainer and you were a new employee, I would be distinctly unimpressed that you felt the final 15 minutes of a training session wasn't worthy of your time. I think you'll need to work very hard to overcome this during your probationary period.

There was some Canadian politician during covid who got his camera on and appeared naked, so whilst highly unlikely, it can happen.

If this is true story OP then you need to find another job. There is no coming back, you did something else during training whilst still on probation.
Ideally you should resign before they suck you.
