The sharks are sensing blood in the water. Trump's hubris has him still thinking that he can shoot someone in the street in front of witnesses and get away with it.

At this stage, it doesn't really matter what Trump thinks. What matters is what the people around him think. Do they think he could still shoot someone on the street in daylight and get away with it ?

Also, while Trump has immunity, his underlings haven't. I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't be planning a future that relies on a pardon from Trump anytime soon.

Good point. He may not be able to do anything much, fairly shortly, whether because he has popped his clogs or because he has been 25thed at last.

The one certainty is that Trump would shoot himself in the foot.

Very unfortunate for those troops, but why is there a flu outbreak in summer? It's usually a winter thing. And two months isn't much time; most of them ought still to be covered by the last jabs they had.

Hegseth is opposed to bodily autonomy when it comes to abortion and reproduction rights.

The bigger question there is why is there a flu outbreak in summer as @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime says. It’s a pretty exclusively summer disease outside of the tropics. Even with travelling back and forth between hemispheres. You just don’t get outbreaks in the summer.

Given the huge prevalence of H5N1 in just about everything in the US and the Trump administration breaking the CDC and monitoring this is a bit concerning.

I’m not sure citing a novel pandemic flu is entirely reassuring.
