It's 10 degrees Celsius, and I have had to put my heating on!

It's JUNE!

A couple of weeks ago I had the fan on when I was in the house, and I was getting a suntan walking around Llandudno!

I'm sooooo cold!

Anyone else had to put the heating on?!

I’m in bed with a hot water bottle, I lit the wood burner again today and I can’t get warm.
it’s 12° here.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/06/2026 20:17

Mini blondes wanted a hot water bottle and heating today - we have a wind in blondesland

Growlybear83 · 07/06/2026 20:29

I’ve had my heating on since Friday and am currently sitting under my throw

Cooled down! It's about 13 degrees here and I've had the heating on for the last 4 nights. It is supposed to be summer.

That's the thing. I think most of us struggle with 30C plus, and some struggle with over 26C, especially if it's muggy/humid, but the temperatures this past week have been bonkers.

It did get to 17C today (for me) as I mentioned earlier, and it was sunny for a few hours, but within 2 hours or so of me saying that - it started raining (at around 3pm) and it hasn't stopped. And the temperature dropped 5 degrees C with the rain. It was 12C at 4.00pm. My friend who is in Dublin at the moment said it was 10C at 4pm. As you say, it's supposed to be summer. I don't think 10-12C is normal for early June daytime temperatures.

Heating is on all year round. Set to 19. If the temp drops under that, it goes on.

AhMh67 · 08/06/2026 14:06

I don't use heating in winter never mind summer lol.
put a jumper on

No it isn't normal and it is bonkers. I'm going to write a letter of complaint from thoroughly pissed off in Bristol.

😆 Do it!

Today was pleasant. Rained in some of the county, but was nice 80% of the day for me. Again not hot, but felt nice in the sun. Top temperature 18C. It is 10C now though and DH popped the heating on for about 25 minutes at 8.30pm, just to take the chill off the air. I have heard rumours several times over this past 3-4 days that a heatwave is on the way. I don't know if it's just wishful thinking though. 😆

Feel your pain from thoroughly pissed off in Bath and just as it gets better at the weekend - we’re off somewhere in EU with work where it looks like we are going to get some rain for 3 days out of 6 - yay!!

OneThreadOnlybyN · 08/06/2026 22:16

I caved in & put if on this morning.

then this evening it was hot inside (25°) & the sun was lovely when I went fir a walk at 7pm, but the wind had a chilly bite to it. Then about 8.30 the temperature plummeted.

its mad 😵‍💫😵‍💫

It was sooooo chilly here this morning. 7 degrees C! (Windchill of 5C. I mean WTF?!!!) Confused It's only 11C now! (Windchill 10C.) Maximum temperature it's going to get to today (according to Alexa) is 14C!

I managed to not put the heating on though. The sun was streaming through the window so it didn't feel as cold (in the house) as it did a few days ago (even though it was a bit colder!)

Where is that heatwave?!

Our heating comes on when it goes below 18. It came on this morning 😮

Sanguinello · 09/06/2026 09:53

I assumed it must be Autumn. Had a hot chocolate last night. Might get my candles and cosy socks out

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2026 10:01

I like this kind of cooler , rainy weather. We need rain as April and May were very dry where I live and we need water.
I don’t like it over 25 myself, but it was chilly this morning. It is strange weather all round.

InconsequentialFerret · 09/06/2026 10:05

It pissed it down in April and May where I live, and June has continued this. It's also bloody freezing! I'm fed up of the cold and wet!

God I hope there is a heatwave on the way. I'm sick of more or less wearing the same clothes all year round apart from anything else.

That's just typical! Mind you, I'm not holding my breath about this promised "better weekend" here.

Iliketulips · 09/06/2026 11:09

Very lucky here, haven't felt cold at all. It was 19c downstairs when I got up this morning. Heating is left on timed all year and hasn't kicked in for a while.

I kid you not I am in my lighter weight puffa coat with hood today!!

BigSkies2022 · 09/06/2026 11:22

Well yes. But I have just ordered a portable aircon unit for our bedroom and if it is good I will order a second one for DS. I’m not living through another sticky, tropical, sleepless summer and I’m not waiting until the next heatwave hits and there are none to be had.

Me too. I think the cooler drizzy weather is OK, but not in summer! We're nearly in the middle of June. Although I have heard from 3 different sources today that the weather is improving by the weekend. Dry and warm with temperatures in the mid 20s!

Currently wearing my Damart thermal fingerless gloves.

Was walking along the street yesterday and passed a woman wearing a thick fleece with her hands buried deep in the pockets.

Even my cat is turning his nose up at going out for more than a few minutes!

Dear god @GearChange 🫣
I’ve lit the wood burner, I’m wearing four layers, thick socks and I’m cold. It’s 9° feels like 6° here.

GoldAndSilverBells · 10/06/2026 20:07

OMG @GearChange That's wild! A big sleet and hailstorm in June WTF?!

It was 13-14C here today, (and 16C in the little town 3 miles or so from us,) and it was sunny some of the day, but we had to dodge a few showers. DH and I were driving back home (quite high above sea level we are,) and when we were about a mile from home a big rainstorm/thunderstorm hit us. The temperature in the storm dropped to 6C! We were gobsmacked.
