It's 10 degrees Celsius, and I have had to put my heating on!

It's JUNE!

A couple of weeks ago I had the fan on when I was in the house, and I was getting a suntan walking around Llandudno!

I'm sooooo cold!

Anyone else had to put the heating on?!

My heating clicked on early afternoon. House got cold

last weekend sunbathing and duvet cover and fan

today raining and our duvet back in cover and no fan

marieeewonders1970 · 07/06/2026 00:10

Tell me about it.

Twinklefeet · 07/06/2026 00:27

In my area its been raining on and off all day, with strong winds damp and cloudy.
And i love it.

EBearhug · 07/06/2026 00:52

D-Day was postponed to 6th June because of appalling weather. It's not unusual for early June.

HelpMeGetThrough · 07/06/2026 06:32

Ours kicked in again this morning. It’s technically never off, as we have the thermostat set to 18 this time of year.

It wasn’t on for long. It’s at least not hammering down with rain and heavy winds today.

No, today's supposed to be quite nice. Brace for tomorrow.

Sun is shining in Sussex, happy days. 😍

Sorry. Might be my fault…. I put my summer duvet on last week

Me too! Changed all of the winter duvets for summer ones washed and vacuum packed away the winter ones at the start of the heat wave

IOMQuestions · 07/06/2026 08:00

Live on the IOM, it’s TT, it needs to be dry for race week this week, it’s been wet, miserable and cold. So 3.1 races, only about a quarter of the programme.

It’s a big week long outside festival. I froze to death trying to be at the outside bars and venues to support local bands and food sellers. We took the winter duvet off at end of May and the electric blanket is in the loft. I’d love a proper summer. I’ve packed my shorts away again after the week of it being lovely.

FarTraveller · 07/06/2026 08:26

We were away somewhere cold (-7°C on one of the days when it was 30°C+ at home) so it’s seriously disappointing to get home to 10° in June!

HollyhockDays · 07/06/2026 08:37

Same! Put it on for about an hour yesterday! It was 11 degrees.

Thimblybee · 07/06/2026 08:37

Unless we suddenly dipped to about 5 degrees outside the heating is not going on in this house past April! The log burner might get lit in April but not after that!

It's bloody crap though OP I totally agree.

I hate being baked alive in the UK because our house turns into a sauna and takes a good week to get back to a comfortable temperature but this is shite. We all just want some settled warm weather. Warm enough to potter, to sit outside in before it the nights start drawing in again 😭

1AnotherOne · 07/06/2026 08:38

My heating has been turned off at the boiler since it started warming up but I can hear the thermostat has been trying to click on the past couple of days.

ive got fleece pyjama bottoms, dressing gown and a blanket sat on the sofa with a coffee and the dog (who’s usually always hot) is cuddled up. I’m a big hot weather fan - I loved the recent heat. This is ridiculous 😂

Statsquestion1 · 07/06/2026 08:41

This is when I thank the lord for my highly insulated new build! I genuinely have no idea of the outside temp until I open the door! I wear shorts and vest to bed all year round!

shellyleppard · 06/06/2026 10:49

Its been non stop rain for hours. I'm cold but just put another layer on instead of the heating 🤣🤣 i look like the Michelin woman 🤣🤣🤣 currently wearing top, jumper, body warmer and thick socks 🤣🤣🤣

You might want to consider leggings/jiggers.jeans...

TroysMammy · 07/06/2026 08:50

Yes, it was on from 4pm to 9 last night. I was freezing. I was also wearing a fluffy on top of a shirt.

A Facebook memory from 7 years ago popped up today "I wish I didn't put my winter jumpers in the attic last week". It's not new that June is a shitty month weatherwise.

Tshirtking · 07/06/2026 08:59

I like it like this, the heat makes my medical condition worse. I hope it stays cool untill after GCSE and A levels are finished, there's nothing worse then taking an exam in the heat .

Yeah it was supposed to be nice here today, big load of heavy stuff in the washing machine... waiting to be turned on. All nightmare stuff to dry inside. It's grey, it's cold, it's looking very stormy. The rest of the week looking much the same. Do I risk it?

Oh yes, if I could organise it I'd take extra rain this week to keep the roads dry for them!!

OneThreadOnlybyN · 07/06/2026 09:09

I haven't had the heating on. But I've thought about it. Especially when contemplating a shower. I have a medical condition that makes being cold very painful, so getting out the shower in this weather isn't good.

Fizbosshoes · 07/06/2026 09:10

NimbleHiker · 06/06/2026 13:45

I haven't put the heating on but i am wearing another layer. I must admit that i don't like it when it is 30 degrees. I just want a nice sunny day where it is 20 degrees. I just feel like we rarely get anything in the middle. It either feels like winter or it is far too hot.

There was a very similar thread to this one in mid May because it was so cold and miserable. I went to an outdoor event on 16th May and wore a tshirt, thin jumper, jeans, and a raincoat and was uncomfortably cold. I even considered buying a hoodie i didnt want at a merch stall but couldnt bring myself to spend £35!

But on most weather threads theres people (like me) who dislike cool, grey, windy, wet weather - that we seem to get a lot of ...and people that complain about hot weather, as if there is no in between (early-mid 20s and sunny would not be unbearable hot) ....except in the last month there hasn't really been much in between....its either between dull, grey, windy, wet and below 15.....or 25+

fluffiphlox · 07/06/2026 09:11

Yes. Heating on here and a blanket on top of the summer duvet

GoldAndSilverBells · 07/06/2026 13:32

Gone nice here today! Sun is out. It's windy though, and the top temperature expected is 17C. Better than the last few days though!

Where I live in East Anglia has been wet but not cold. I was painting a bedroom yesterday in shorts and T-shirt with the window open and didn’t feel cold. I only knew that a lot of the UK had gales because the shipping forecast came on the radio. Today is sunny and breezy - perfect for drying laundry.

StabiaGirl · 07/06/2026 13:51

MrsClattenburg · 06/06/2026 12:26

I know, I had y vest and shorts on this time last week and was sweating 🥵

Now I'm digging out my black jeans to wear for a lunch out 😫

And how can the weather forecasters say 'we need the rain'???
Er, it rained non stop for months earlier this year...

We went for a walk at a local reservoir yesterday and the water level was shockingly low compared to just a few weeks ago. So yes, we do need the rain. Apparently nationwide, a billion extra litres of water were used during the bank holiday heatwave. And now two more heatwaves are being forecast.
It's a sobering thought.
