Ever been clubbing abroad?

Have you ever been clubbing abroad and by that I mean outside the UK and also the Republic of Ireland.

What was it like? For me. It's a thing I want to experience for some reason.

Yes. One of the best nights out ever was in a club on an industrial estate outside Casablanca.

My brother used to go to the drum and bass jungle nights. I was a techno and house girl.

The club was called Mass. my mates ran a night called Nymph there but the milk n 2 sugars crowd put on nights there. I saw Jumpin Jack Frost there.

Spain and America but many years ago, I’m 60 soon to give an indication of the decades and was in my twenties.

Spain in 2001. I think the best bit was no parents to moan about what time we were getting in so we got back to the hotel at 6am and slept until nearly tea time.

Yes! In Salou, Zante, Kos, Benidorm, Ibiza, Tenerife and Cork. All great fun! I would not do in now!

Yes! Zante.. ayia napa.. and more.. British hits and mainly British people. Lots of people hooking up .. around 15 years ago now .. wow!!!

Oh my god, you've just unlocked a memory of the one and only time I have been clubbing abroad. In Geneva, of all places.

Yes in Paris. I was uni age though. Loud music and drinking. Being chatted up by boys. Fairly universal isn’t it? Wouldn’t want to go now, though have heard of club nights for oldies like me playing music from the 70s/80s.

Yeah in Ibiza, France, mainland Spain, America…not so into it now I’m older but I loved it when I was young.

I went to a club in Portugal when I was 14! My family was staying in apartments which were run by a local family and the older teens in the family invited me to join them. It was a very cool place actually - the inside had a big metal bridge over the dance floor that either professionals or the clubbers could dance on, outside there were several bars and seating areas and a go kart track. Good old 90s when noone gave a shit about ID 😁

I went to an outdoor nightclub in Bodrum in the mid 90s. I think it was quite big but I don't really remember it now.

Oh I also went to several clubs in Portugal at 16 when I went on holiday with my best friend and her parents. Have a very vivid memory of a foam party where the foam was up to everyones waists - massively dangerous!

Other than that only been to clubs in Australia when I lived there in my early 20s

It's how I met my DH back in the 90s in Playa de las Americas. Lots of alcohol, reps dragging us into bars and Ricky Martin Livin la Vida Loca played everywhere. Good times.

Clubs in Rhodes and Zante at the end of A-Levels and after graduation. I don’t remember much about the clubs in Rhodes, but do remember thinking “this is like [insert name of home town’s local nightspot] but hotter and sweatier”. Maybe we picked the wrong clubs! Zante was good, but I remember being pushed forcefully to the ground from behind by a very drunk man for no apparent reason, which wasn’t pleasant. I wasn’t seriously hurt, just shaken up.

I studied Languages at uni, and spent my year abroad in France and Spain. The town where I lived in France wasn’t known for its nightlife, but I ventured to Rouen with friends and had a great night in a bar/club type venue. Spain was fantastic - some great memories of nights in Madrid, Salamanca and also Lisbon as I spent a weekend in Portugal.

I don’t think the Isle of Man/Jersey/Guernsey count as the question uses the word abroad, but I was pleasantly surprised by some great evenings in my early 20s!

Going anywhere near a club now is my worst nightmare; I like a nice meal in a restaurant, maybe a few drinks, and home before midnight!

I've never liked clubbing before I went but I was on holiday and thought it might be a bit of an interesting experience.
